Curious... am I obsessed?

i have been feeling a severe lack of motivation lately. i guess it feels like i have been stuck in the area of 142-145 for a few weeks and I just want to bust through to the 130’s and maybe ill feel better about myself.

lately i have also been struggling with whether i just want to do this as fast as possible (severe calorie restriction), or whether i want to take my time, be healthy and work slower but a lot more steadier. to be honest tho… i really just want the extra weight off as soon as i can get there but i am so scared i will just be “skinny fat” instead of looking actually thin.

i will do anything to get past 139 tho…. last summer my bf bought me some lipo 6 black. i think i still have some and i might use them to get through these few lbs. i dont really like how they make me feel but i think it might be worth a try if just for a week or so.

Finished jogging with my boyfriend! I am tired hot happy and feel very accomplished:)

totally worth it.

-running with 2 dogs keeps your going

I’ve managed to only eat 200 calories so far today. I’m waiting for tonight when my family and I go to Red Robin for my graduation dinner. I’m at Red Robin’s website trying to build the healthiest good-tasting meal I can. Hahaha :)

4 strawberries with nutella: 100 calories

total: 550

i reallyy wanted to just give up and eat everything I saw….so glad i didn’t!

heya, i’m looking online for some good workout regimens, does anyone know of some good sites on which i can find some good exercise regimens and diet plans? also does anyone know of a good daily food intake tracker site?

I’m at 207.2 lbs, which means I’m 7.3 lbs away from officially hitting my first major goal.  I cannot wait; I plan on throwing myself a kick-ass party when I hit it.  I mean, Jesus, Panda Dynamo has lost 57.4 lbs so far.  That is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

I realize I’ve been rather hesitant to ruffle any feathers on my Tumblr…yeah, that’s not gonna fly anymore.  The whole point of this damn thing is to be able to rant, vent, rave, and (for me) process all that’s going on around me.  I shouldn’t hide that I love yaoi and hentai, or that I love the gym more than sex, or that I’m a shameless flirt.  And I most certainly shouldn’t hide being a nerd girl (Han shot first, btw).

I shouldn’t hide that I still have feelings for Abraham and Franklin (they’d be stupid not to know).  But I’m moving on.  It’s better than nothing.  And I probably will find better.

I shouldn’t hide how inwardly comfortable I am with my sexuality, even though I outwardly react like Barney Fife.

Anything else?  I’ll think on it.  But I’m no longer ashamed to post anything about what I like or don’t like.

Rest day.

Wearing a dress I haven't worn in forever 'cause my stomach's gotten flatter!

(I know I seem to say this every month but….)

I want to be beautiful

I want to feel amazing

I want to stay healthy

I want to get in shape

I want to feel skinny and small

I want to go back to that size 2-1 I used to be a year or so ago

On Thursday mornings I have to do a 5am run.

Sleeping Boston Terriers

It makes me angry - very, very angry.

I looked like this

Sleeping at the gym

Fine - I looked like this

angry baby

I pay attention to my speed, since it’s the shortest run of the week. It’s awful!

I run inside on my treadmill, because I fear I’d throw myself into oncoming traffic outside (true story)

This morning - I ran my 2 miles in 20 minutes and 39 seconds.

I’ll get there….

someday

I just love a good BEFORE vs. AFTER!

I’ve had a draft of this post sitting here for a few days. I wanted to talk about weighing myself daily and how short-term plateaus need to kept in perspective. I wanted to talk about how my body seems to go through a cycle of holding onto fat for a few days, then burning it for a few days.

I originally started this post on Monday, when I was disappointed that all of my hard work over the weekend hadn’t translated onto the scales. I weighed in around 102kg on Saturday morning (an excellent result at the time), but was 103kg on Sunday night after a weekend of running, cycling, and a visit to the gym.

I was mindful of how my body seems to go through cycles: it holds onto weight for a few days, then burns fat for a couple of days. I figured it would be a good time to explain what I thought was happening and cite the weekend as the perfect example of this. I was convinced the day I dropped a kilo was just around the corner.

On Tuesday I put on 100 grams. No big deal, but still frustrating. It was four days since I’d lost any weight, but the big drop was just around the corner.

On Wednesday I was still 103.1kg and was starting to make deals with myself: “Keep up the exercise and diet, and if you haven’t dropped any weight by Friday morning we’re going to have a binge day.” After my second run of Couch to 5km week seven, I weighed myself and felt like throwing the scales through the window when I hadn’t lost any weight.

On Thursday I finally dropped some weight, but it was only 400 grams. Normally I’d be pretty happy with that, but I was still heavier than I was in the morning six days previous. Given that my goal is to lose around one kilogram every five days, that wasn’t good enough.

Then I weighed myself today — 101.5kg. Finally I’d broken through, just in time to save myself from a binge day which would put me even further off track. Now I’m back to being ahead of my goals and am re-enthused.

So, as I said, short-term plateaus need to be kept in perspective. They don’t necessarily feel short-term at the time, but as long as you keep the exercise and dieting up, you’ll get there.

I have unintentionally made today a fruit day. I love fruit. I have to go to the store at my lunch hour and pick up a couple of fruit smoothies and protein drinks.

Intake: Banana, 1 Cup Fruit salad (Watermelon, Mango, Strawberries, Grapes & Banana), & Coffee

Outake: 20 Squats, 20 Lunges, 25 Dead Lifts

More later!!

I can’t get to 155;/ does anyone have any tips for when ur at a stand-still with your weight loss?:|

“It’s so hard to lose weight, yet so easy to lose motivation. Keep movin.”

I KNOW RIGHT!

Hey guys.  So I have a question.  Is 110 lbs an appropriate weight loss goal for someone who is...

but then my ibs made me exhausted and my heartburn flared up like a motherfucker.

its been like this all week.

how am i going to lose weight if i cant excerise because im too exhausted and sick to do it??!!

whatever. im going to go sleep my symotoms away.

Having one of those days where I feel like I’m getting no where. I feel quite heavy and  sluggish, it’s so weird because I’ve done nothing to make me feel like this. I hate going to bed feeling fat. It’s really not like me to feel like this at all.

I promise I’ll stop being so melodramatic soon, followers!

my boyfriend is in the marines, and all this long distance is making me have emotional cravings. I’ve been having some very good days and some very bad days, I just need to get some motivation to get back. The thing with me is I always work out, usually 2-4 times a day, but at the very minimum once, but no matter how many times I work out, if I eat something bad, it throws me off for a couple of days, and just keeps making it easier to eat junk the next day.

I guess what the point of this is, does anyone want to be a texting buddy or something? I need someone to yell at me and keep me on track. ?

But I just pulled all my fat so It looked like I was skinny. it looked good…. heyoo summer goal! hahaha

anyways, I’ve lost 5 lbs in about.. 2 weeks, without exercise. Just food-eating change haha. Summer+healthier food+ being able to work out + blahblahblah= losing weight. Yeah buddy.

5’7” 113.5 lbs

“It does not matter how slow you go so long as you do not stop.”

- Confucius. :)

I can’t stop thinking about the chocolate mousse in the fridge.

WAAAAH!

I can’t wait to use it! It’ll be so much easier to keep motivated now.

Hey guys.  So I have a question.  Is 110 lbs an appropriate weight loss goal for someone who is 5’2”?  I just wanna confirm that I’m not going too low.

What do you think?

-4lbs.

Remember how I said I’m gonna lose 30 pounds? I didn’t lie. In less than four months, I have lost 16 pounds, just by counting calories and dancing. I would get sick, and it would set my goals back, but I’d always get back up on my feet to kick even more ass than before.

My diet hasn’t been the best, but it’s a slow process, and I can proudly say that I went with the Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich and fruit cup at Chik-fil-a rather than the spicy chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I enjoyed every bit of it too, and without the bloaty, post fast food stupor I’d usually be in.

Indulgence is a fleeting thing. Why constantly give in to a craving when the taste will be gone in a matter of minutes?

This summer break, I’m challenging myself to lose 10 pounds. That’s five shy of my ultimate goal weight for August. I’m going to work hard for it, and even getting close to it will make me happy. I’m hoping that by next week I’ll be in the next digits.

Any support is welcome. :)

ugh….it’s not that i ate too many calories, just the ones i ate were sooo unhealthy =\ oh welll i’ve been soo good lately, so one iffy day won’t ruin everything…gonna wait a few days to weigh myself again i thinkk

and this bikram yoga….omg it’s amazing! everytime i go i leave feeling soo much better than the day before….i have a feeling this is gonna become an addiction this summer (a healthy one at least!!) I seriouslyy recommend you try it if you have a studio near you!!

Every time I eat I feel so guilty afterward :(

Apparently eating 500 calories or less a day will result in 1 lb lost per week … I think I am going to try doing this. And I will also go back to only having coffee in the morning, and only one cup.  Tea the rest of the day. And gallons of water.

Today my total caloric intake was 689 calories (I love the calorie counter on my phone). That’s not too bad at all. I’ll do some exercise tonight, since I missed it the past three days :( … but I feel like work sometimes makes up for not exercising, since I sweat so much there.

NO EXCUSE.

I want to look super hot this summer, or at least by the time I go back to school.

PS. I got a new swim suit … it’s floral and so cute :D I’m very pleased with it.

My mom has been telling me to lose weight and all that since i was like 12 so she was pretty damn excited when i told her i was trying to lose weight.

NOTHING

If you give up anything you love completely, you increase your risk of falling off the wagon. Giving something up is a short term solution, but it doesn’t form long-term habits. I’m going to use something unhealthy that I love as an example: macaroni and cheese.

I love mac and cheese and always have. I not only love it on its own, but I love putting stuff in it, like basil, or salsa, or bacon, or black olives and shredded chicken. It makes everything better.

It also has 600+ calories in a box. And that’s with nothing added to it.

Before I was eating healthy, I would make mac and cheese at least once a month. When I made it, I’d eat half the box to start with, and a lot of the time I’d go back later and eat the rest. I’d eat the whole box in one sitting.

Mac and cheese is terrible - it’s simple carbs, fat, and dairy. It’s highly processed and full of preservatives and sodium. It is, in fact, Bad News Bears on the diet front.

But if I gave it up totally, I’d just cave. The next time I made mac for the kid I watch, I’d end up scarfing his leftovers. Or I’d resist for months, and then one day I’d be at the cafe down the street and see mac on the menu and think, “Oh, I’ve been so good. I deserve to treat myself to this tasty thing I love.”

And then I’d eat the entire fucking bowl. And it would probably be even higher in calories than the boxed version.

If you love something, don’t cut it out of your life, but watch yourself with it. Read the label and find out what the actual portion size is. Stick to the portion size listed, and count the calories.

You can also find lower-calorie ways to make the same thing and have it be just as good. Sometimes I make homemade cheese sauce and put it on cauliflower instead of pasta. Other times I cave and buy a box of Kraft dinner, but I buy the white cheddar kind. You can make the white cheddar mac and substitute fat free plain yogurt for the butter and milk in the preparation. It shaves off some calories and it’s delicious. I honestly like it more than regular macaroni and cheese.

“Reblog if you support weight loss in June.”

Last summer, I never would have worn this tank without a cardigan.  It was also pretty uncomfortable because it was so tight.  Now it’s actually a little big, and I feel great in it. :)

and to celebrate I just made the nastiest hot fudge sundae with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and a blend of peanut butter/hot fudge (duh) so hot it just melted the entire cup of ice cream.

I’m only 1lb away from losing 50altogether, though, after this, I might be like 2 or 3 or 8000 lbs away.

also I am going to be so sick later but my God is it worth it.

I’m okay with that?

Wish it was more, for my first week weighing in, but hey, its 4 lbs I didn’t have last week.

Here you go!

Whenever I feel like binging (I get cravings a lot), I do all of these things.
• Go brush your teeth. Chew gum. (Careful, make sure it’s sugar free and don’t have too much. It still has calories, but very low) Minty. Food would taste disgusting with that.
• Chug a cup or 2 of water. Maybe you’re not hungry. Maybe you’re just dehydrated.
• Consider if you want to binge because you’re actually hungry, or just emotionally hungry. If your stomach is rumbling, go have some carrots or something healthy & low cal!
• Think about your goals, your thinspiration, all of the reasons you want to lose weight. Think of how binging will feel good for about 5 minutes, then make you feel awful the entire week. Think about how good it will feel if you resist.
• Drink green tea! (no sugar)
• Come on tumblr! Look at all the motivational quotes, success stories and pictures.

Do all or some of these next time you want to binge. :) Remember, it’s not easy, but it’ll definitely be worth it!

Also, anyone can message me if they’re feeling too tempted and I’ll motivate you to resist! Just ask for my msn, fb, skype etc. :)

Would anyone be interested?

I liked my outfit today.

Hmm.. This is hard because all I really try to think of is the good things that come of it.

I’m afraid that I’ll have a hard time maintaining and I’ll become fat again.

That was not a pretty time of my life.

Enough babble, here is my routine for the day, which is still somewhat challenging as I cannot move smoothly through every pose transition quite yet, but how awesome is it that I KNOW next week it’s going to be much easier? =D

AM Workout <— Did this in the morning, before I showered/ate

1) Morning Yoga for Flexibility - Beginners (7 min)

2) Yoga for Balance - Beginners (5 min)

3) Strength Building Yoga - Beginners (7 min)

4) Weight Loss Yoga - Beginners (10 min)

5) 4-Week Strength Building Yoga - Intermediate (7 min)

Total:  36 minutes. Goes from stretching out your limbs to building balance and strength. The latter part of the routine sequence makes me sweat + loosens up my body for the rest of the day.

PM Workout <—— Did this before I ate dinner :) MMM Got my stiffness from furiously writing/thinking for 5+ hours!!

1) Yoga for Flexibility - Beginners (5 min 30 seconds)

2) Yoga for Getting Out of Your Way - Intermediate (11 min)

3) Cardio Yoga Challenge 1 - Beginners (4 min)

4) Get Ripped Abs from Yoga - Beginners (4 min) <— note, you need a yoga block, and this stuff HURTS

5) Yoga for Balance - Beginners (5 min)

Total: 30 minutes. Stretches you out, works you through poses that require more flexibility, targets your abs and then winds down with some simple stretching/balancing. Did the cardio yoga video for the first time today O_O

I switch up my routines every day, depending on how my body is feeling and what areas I would like to improve on. If a new routine is hard, I will generally keep it in my rotation until it is comfortably doable. I like Tara because I can pick and chose exactly how much I want to do and how hard I want to work :) While this usually would make a lazy girl like me pick the easiest 3 routines and just repeat that every day, I’ve found that I’ve grown to search for a challenge after the easier stuff is done, and I actually LOOK FORWARD to starting new routines that look difficult so I can perfect them!  Bravo!

And that is my first Yoga Routine + Progress Monday!! :) Am I cheesy to say “Namaste” at the end?

Tues: Snack 2

Okay, so it’s finally sunny, and I finally have the motivation I need to get in shape. I found a really interesting workout routine in Fitness Magazine, and it seems pretty straightforward. It consists of 8 toning exercises and cardio for three weeks.

  • Week one: 2 sets of 8-12 reps of each exercise, twice a week on nonconsecutive days, and five days a week of cardio for 25-35 minutes.
  • Week two: 3 sets of 8-12 reps of each exercise, three times a week, and five days a week of cardio for 35-45 minutes, doing the cardio before the exercises.
  • Week three: 3 sets of 15-20 reps of each exercise, three times a week, and five days a week of cardio for 45-55 minutes doing the cardio before the exercises.

I feel like this, plus eating regularly, will actually get me in shape and get me excited to exercise more for the rest of summer. Also, I know I need more of a routine during the summer because otherwise I’ll just sit around lazily.

This starts out tomorrow, wish me luck! :)

And did day 8. I have never worked out for this many consecutive days before in my life. Ever. The most I had ever worked out before was two or three times a week. Now that I’ve started doing this and I’ve gotten into a routine with it, I know that I have to do it every day, no excuses. I guess it also helps that I won’t let myself take a shower until after I’ve done my workout. ;) I have to shower every day, and I should do my work out everyday, so it only stands to reason that if I want to shower, I have to make myself get off my behind.

Today has been a lazy day. I slept in until 11 (which I haven’t done in quite a while), and then just sat around watching Doctor Who. I just finished the series with the Ninth Doctor, and can I just say that I think Christopher Eccleston is delish? David Tennant and Matt Smith are attractive (granted, I’ve only seen a few episodes with Tennant, and none with Smith), but I’m pretty sure Nine will be my favourite. x_x Let me go ahead and reserve the right to change my opinion once I get all caught up, though.

They were DELICIOUS! And since they weren’t fried they were nearly fat free. Delicious! If anybody wants the recipe just let me know! :)

Next recipe to try… chocolate zucchini cake… mmmm ;D

When I was willing to spend the rest of my life being unhappy I was at least proud of my breasts. I used to be a 40DDD and now the measurements get smaller and smaller. I’m becoming a little obsessed.

The one thing I loved, my large, soft breast are deserting me. I keep using all of these online calculators to find out what size I should be wearing. I’m so afraid to actually walk into a store and have them measure me. I don’t want to have small breasts.

And there is NOTHING WRONG with having small breast. I’m not trying to say anything about anyone with small breast—you probably rock them like a boss—but I realize that my weight was such a problem for my self-esteem and when I did find something to like about myself I went all out. As a plus sized woman I could always say that I had a beautiful chest and now that I feel like it’s slipping away I’m freaking out.

I’ve let my breasts be the only thing about me that was beautiful for so long. What do I do now?

Quick Progress

Just over a year ago I started a self improvement project to lose weight with an ultimate goal of loosing 100 lbs (just over 8 stone.) So far I’ve lost 90 pounds. I’m hoping to loose the last 11 pounds over this summer. I say 11 because i want to loose just over 100 pounds so that there can be no question that I’ve lost the full weight. Its been very hard, and still is very hard, but I’m almost there!

  • How I feel about my appearance
  • How I can’t get over my ex
  • How I get paranoid when people my age look at me
  • Whenever an attractive guy looks (or doesn’t look) in my general direction

All of it. When I go running, these thoughts and feelings of mine are what will keep me going. They’re what will push me harder… My insecurities will have been the greatest source of my weight loss.

June 2010

June 2011

Here are two pictures of me. One from June 2010 and one I just took.

Last year I weighed around 220 lbs.

Today I weighed myself midday at 195 lbs.

Still a long way to go, but I feel great.

Uhmm im such a fatass that I refuse to post my weight :-/

Rules:

Woo! Taking a cool down break now! I’m supposed to go back out with my mom later after the thunderstorms but I wanted to get a decent workout in before they started just in case they don’t pass!

99 degrees!!! I can’t believe I made it, take that freakish June heat! :D

It only took 1.5 full 24 oz water bottles to get me through!

Day 2 of my workout is completed! This workout was not sweet at all. No Joke. My Legs felt like two big bricks. Didn’t work too much on back because I did that yesterday. Ended my workout with 15 mins of cardio on my bike in the basement. This workout was very effective and my legs are a killer right now.

Another HOT 97 Article!: Read my article and make sure you leave a comment! Thanks guys!

I’M STARTING WITH DAY 9 BECAUSE IT’S THE NINTH OF JUNE. IM WEIRD LIKE THAT, AND ALSO SLIGHTLY LAZY. I DON’T WANT TO WRITE A BUNCH OF POSTS TRYING TO CATCH UP, ANYWAY HERE IT GOES.

YES. YES.YES.YES.YES.

ONE OF MY EARLIEST MEMORIES OF PEOPLE MAKING NEGATIVE COMMENTS WAS WHEN I WAS IN SIXTH GRADE. I WAS IN GYM CLASS, AND THE WHOLE CLASS WAS SITTING IN ROWS ON THE FLOOR OF THE GYMNASIUM. THERE WERE TWO BOYS BEHIND ME, SITTING NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER. I COULD HEAR ONE LEAN OVER AND WHISPER TO THE OTHER ‘SHE’S AS BIG AS A BUS’. I KNEW THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT ME, I WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM, I WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST GIRLS IN THE CLASS, AND WHEN I TURNED AROUND TO LOOK AT THEM THEN STOPPED GIGGLING AND STARED AT ME.

THE MAIN PERSON THAT GIVES ME GRIEF ABOUT MY SIZE AND MY WEIGHT IT MY MOTHER. SHE ALWAYS SAYS MY CLOTHES ARE TOO TIGHT, BUYS XXXL SHIRTS FOR ME, RECOMMENDS DIETS, ALWAYS SAYS MY BOOBS ARE ‘HANGING OUT’, ECT. SURE SOME OF IT SOUNDS HELPFUL, BUT SHE SAYS IT IN SUCH A DEMEANING, RUDE, AND UNCARING WAY. I ALWAYS ENVY MY GIRLFRIENDS WHO HAVE CARING AND SUPPORTIVE MOTHERS, WHEN MINE IS -EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE- A BITCH.

LUCKILY, I DO HAVE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT ME. MY DAD, MY GRANDMOTHER, AND MY BOYFRIEND ARE THE THREE  MAIN PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT ME, ENCOURAGE ME, AND COMPLIMENT ME WHEN I’M FEELING MY WORST. MY BOYFRIEND LETS ME SIT ON HIS LAP AND COMPLIMENTS ME HOURLY, MY DAD TELLS ME WHEN I LOOK NICE, AND MY GRANDMOTHER CALLS ME BEAUTIFUL WHEN SHE SEEMS ME.

Mum made dinner with a bunch of weird sauces and I wasn’t sure how to count it but that’s the best I could do. I had a fucking awesome run, I was really upset and it totally cleared my head! I feel 110% better! :)

Now for some crunches and leg lifts then some studying and off to bed!

Anyone have any good high energy foods they could recommend? I hardly have any energy for school anymore and I need a way to keep it up for exams!

I’m in the black.

So I’ve been trying to lose the weight that I gained last year. I went from a size 4/5 to a 9/10.

I only weigh myself once a month to keep me from going insane, but I weighed myself the other day and I’ve lost 10 pounds. I’ve still got 30 to 35 more pounds to go, but I’m so happy that I’ve FINALLY started to lose weight.

I’m starting to ease my way into a vegan lifestyle. In the next few weeks I will be cutting out meat from my diet. I think the only problem I will really face is trying to replace my yogurt and butter. I know they make soy yogurt and butter, but so far I’ve yet to find it. >:U

I already drink almond and soy milk just because I prefer the taste to cows milk.

Cheese and chicken will probably be the things I miss the most at first but I’m ready to be healthier and thinner. Plus after reading up on what they do to the animals we consume I felt sick.

After I stopped drinking almost everyday (I’ve cut out that vice completely from my diet) the 10 pounds seemed to fall off.

I was doing yoga, a fitness ball workout and jogging but I hurt my foot and jogging is really uncomfortable now. Soo…I’ve started just doing more yoga and the fitness ball workouts.

It’s hard since I’m really trying hard this time to lose this extra weight. I always feel hungry. :/ But that will pass when my tummy gets used to eating less.

I feel good about this. :)

I can’t wait until my tummy looks like this again.

Sometimes I feel so trapped in my body. I’ve been doing so much to change and its killing me but I know its worth it. Sometimes I try everything to convince myself that I don’t need to go to the gym today, that skipping one day can’t hurt. I find the courage somewhere to tough it out and go anyway…my motivation? That burn I get in the pit of my stomach when my workout is done…I’ve grown to LOVE that burn.

The worst part is that I didn’t realize how EXPENSIVE healthy eating can be in comparison to just eating fast food all the time…

Its literally burning a hole in my pocket but, I’ve already lost 3lbs and I just started last week :)

Still have a long way to go but at least now i’m on the right path.

Check em outt!!!

I’ve eaten okay, maybe a little unhealthily, thanks to the burger I couldn’t turn down for dinner. But I’ve just been lazy exercise-wise. I had a tiring day at work so I came home and had an hour’s nap before going for a very slow 3 mile run with my sister.

I totally just vegged out and watched a film earlier. And instead of doing floor exercises I’m sitting on tumblr feeling rather lazy.

But tomorrow is a fresh start and I have a 5k in the morning, so that should kickstart it.

Tomorrow I have the opportunity to prepare something for dinner just for myself. Any suggestions?

I’m in the black.

And I’ve even gained weight since then…

Doesn’t help that I used to be friends with incredibly thin people… haha

I admit it. My “Kung Fu Panda Party” this weekend and inviting my nephew to sleep over was all an excuse for ME to enjoy one of my favorite movies:P Last night we watched the first movie and tonight we are going to see the 2nd at the drive-in!!! Last night I pre-made cauli-fried rice using 1 head cauliflower, 2 Tbsp each finely chopped celery, red pepper, orange pepper and red onion to give the rice a little “jeweled” look and added flavor along with 2 scrambled eggs. I sauteed everything in sesame oil and seasoned with sesame seeds and sea salt. This made it EXTREMELY easy to pass up the rice from the take-out place:D I did have the cream cheese bite from 2 wonton for a little extra treat and YUMM. Over all it was an amazing dinner and even the kids used chop sticks LOL Today I plan on having a great “induction” day so that I can save my treats for the drive in tonight. I’m taking fresh strawberries, string cheese and cinnamon-coated almonds and will probably get a cold press iced coffee from Caribou sweeted with splenda and cream as a special treat and to help me stay awake for the movie:P I’ll post a pic tomorrow from tonight:) LOL Great weekend!

I’m sooo determined right now to lose weight and a yummy yummy figure, I been wobbly for to long! I looked at the before and after weight loss tags on tumblr today. so inspiring. if they can do it can do it. I have so many reasons to lose weight and get fit. So i’m gonna do it.

So watch this space for before and afters.

i’ll get right on that.

Listen!

I woke up early this morning and decided to do another weigh in.  I had been trying to do them just once a month, but lately I’ve been checking a bit more frequently as I’m close to dropping out of the morbid obesity classification.

I hopped on the scale and it read 385lbs.  That means that since September 3rd of 2010 I’ve dropped 150 pounds.  Once I lose another 3 pounds I’ll no longer be morbidly obese according to BMI.  I don’t really agree with BMI, but when you have as much weight to lose as I do, you look for all the positive trends that you can.

I start the new job on Wednesday and approximately two weeks after that I can go to the doctor and get this Reflux or whatever has been causing my yearlong mucus problem checked out.

Figures! I boast about it and what happens? I have a dream that I intentionally went over my points as I slept and wake up mysteriously a lot heavier than I was the day previous! Remind me to stop weighing myself everyday — it’ll save me the small disappointment >_<; — But hey! I did lose some regardless, and I’ll take whatever I can get. Also, I got to take progress pictures for my first 10 pounds of loss, so that’s exciting as well. You won’t get to see these pictures until the end though! I’ll probably take some where I’m clothed normally once I get to the halfway mark just so you guys can see, but for now? I’m using these highly unflattering pictures to motivate myself to change for me!
Anyway enough about that — here’s the stats:

What To Eat To Lose Weight Fast...But Safe!:

http://wee.fm/5pcp Cool post - What To Eat To Lose Weight Fast…But Safe!

In the June issue of Allure (sorry male readership), this was a headline tucked in next to January Jones, seated with a bunch of other predictable women’s magazine headlines. Obviously women’s health and beauty mags have the insipid habit of recycling the same bullshit with a new annoyingly sensationalist title slapped on it. I almost skipped it entirely, expecting annoying tips like, “Take a bit of cake and then pretend to sneeze and spit it in a napkin. Then do 5 jumping jacks just to be sure you don’t gain weight from any of the crumbs!”

Joking aside, and being at a loss for content ideas (which is NEVER funny to a blogger), I read the article.

It didn’t totally suck….or it didn’t suck totally. While it still maintained some of the hyper obsession with being a bony sack of a human, it discussed how thin women are the ones who make healthy eating a routine, something that belongs to them, instead of being on a diet. ”The word diet connotes a limited-time affair, but thin women have made eating well a routine: It’s simply something they do day in and day out.”

Of course, I would have probably used different verbage (e.g. “healthy” instead of “skinny chicks), the number of annoying and/or borderline disordered-eating tips were minimal.

“The word diet connotes a limited-time affair, but thin women have made eating well a routine: It’s simply something they do day in and day out.” Well duh. The idea that there isn’t some “loss” period and then “maintenance” period is solid: it has to be the eating/exercising changes you make and live with that cause the weight loss and land you at the right weight for you that make having a “maintenance” mode irrelevant. You’re already there. Tracey Jackson (who wrote Confessions of a Shopaholic) was quoted on this: “Once I stopped going on diets, I not only lost 20 lbs, but I kept it off.”

OK, so what are some of the tips?

  • Thin women cook (yep. easier to control ingredients and working for your meal mans you appreciate it more, honestly.)
  • Portioning some of whatever you cook for lunch the next day in tupperware right away (keeps you from eating seconds but also makes sure you have a healthy lunch the next day).
  • Indulge within reason: You’re never going to have a period in your life when you’re not going to want the occasional cookie or bowl of pasta…you better build that in as part of your routine or you’re destined to fail or yo-yo.
  • Be prepared: this is more or less challenging depending on where and in what environment you work. When I was working in a midtown manhattan high rise, it would have been possible for me to get basically any type of food in 10 minutes or less. But I tried to keep better snacks around for when I got hungry to keep from deciding a 2:30pm cupcakes was a good idea. Turns out, carrots or almonds work just fine…

Probably the most important piece of advice, though, is that you should avoid eating processed foods and sugar substitutes as much as possible.

Diet soda is not a good look and, while I totally NEED to have peanut m&ms in my life once in a while, i feel best when I avoid processed food and sugar. So Beware of the 100-calorie pack. In a study cited in the article they noted that subjects who had raw fruit instead ate 20% fewer calories in their snacks—see, my kiwi and pineapple obsession isn’t a bad thing…even if I’m starting to turn green.

So while I wish the focus would be on how you can heave a balanced and healthy approach to food instead of “what skinny chicks are eating,” these are pretty valid points.

What do you guys think? How effective are these ideas in helping you maintain a healthy look and outlook/image?

PS. You can follow me on twitter here.

I’ve recently, or not so recently leaned up and slimmed down to 160, from 185(it was mostly muscle), and I currently stand at 5’8”. I am in love, love, love with my current physique. I shall continue to stay clear of the gym, and stick with my 2-4 mile run 5 days a week, and what ever I rack up on the mileage via riding the fixie. Additionally I’ve decided to toss pushups and sit ups into the mix, but not as routinely. I guess, the biggest struggle is figuring out a diet that works for me, since, for whatever reason my body is never hungry, ESPECIALLY after working out. This is weird? It’s tough to remember to eat, Argh!

Wouldn’t it be SO amazing if we could in reality have vitamins for love, happiness, health and luck?

Found this too CUTE!

Breakfast:

Today was my mom’s birthday party/present day!!! I took her into the city to go see a show- we saw Avenue Q. We got a HUGE lunch at Junior’s… so I assumed that would make me go over my calorie count. I don’t think that measurement is accurate though, because that was a HUGE cheeseburger… anyway, I left some calories at the end to keep it flexible. I ended up not eating a real dinner because we ate a late lunch (like 2) and that cheeseburger was like…. a pound of meat (hahaha).

Don’t worry- I ate ice cream when we got home =P Did lots of walking around the city. My feet hurt, but it was such a good day!!

Mocha Milkshake!! Only 100 calories and 3 fat!

1 serving Breyer’s 98% fat free ice cream

1 teaspoon Maxwell House Sugar Free Mocha

splash of sugar free torani vanilla syrup

3 tablespoons (.2 C) nonfat milk

My Old Before And AfterI am NOT eating a healthy meal right now.

Here is the first photo of me, my stomach to be exact, the area...

I wish one day I’ll feel confident enough to show my head and my body at the same time. For now I’m too ashamed.

? Vegan!
? under 250 calories!

This smoothie is filling enough to count as your whole breakfast, and reeks the rewards of almonds and oatmeal (see my previous recipes to learn about the benefits of oatmeal and almonds). Strawberries are also a wonderful antioxidant. The best part? It tastes like chocolate covered strawberries!

Ingredients

1 cup halved fresh strawberries
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/4 cup dry oatmeal or quick oatmeal
1 tspn unsweetened cocoa powder

Blend all ingredients, serve in a tall glass, and enjoy!

I took a picture for this recipe this time, hope you guys like it! ?

June 13

Small Salad… which is necessary because I’ve been waiting all day long to eat at a friends birthday dinner. I’m irritated only slightly because she chose a breakfast place to eat at. Nearly impossible to find something healthy or that I won’t feel guilty about. I will just have to see how little of it I can eat without getting questioned

I took this this morning just after I got ready.

I decided it was time to stop being ashamed of who I am and do something I would have never done.

This is what I wore out today.

I’ve never tanned the top part of my arms before. This is new.

I feel so good with myself right now.

Today, the 13th of June 2011, I choose ?2Lose. This is my weight loss challenge.

But today I am so stressed and so hungry, that I am going to allow myself as much fruits and veggies my heart desires. Hopefully this will prevent me from eating any junk food and anything unhealthy in general!:)

So until June 27 the following will be my life.

5:15 wake up= early morning workout on yoga mat.

6:30- Breakfast

7:25-2:08- School….. =/ UNTIL NEXT WEEK THEN IT WILL BE EXCERSIZE

2:30- 4- Cardio

5-9- homework slot.

i will lose another 6 pounds before I go. I PROMISE YOU.

if I only get a water to drink at dinner, and then eat less than half of my meal (I have no idea what I’m even getting yet!!!!) I’ll hopefully keep it under +400

dieting sucks

Here is the first photo of me, my stomach to be exact, the area of weight that bugs me the most. Here it is a little bloated from the lovely Chinese I had for my Mum’s Birthday, it is the last big thing I am going to eat, I swear, for me it’s just little portions now.
