(MyFoxHouston) — A Detroit father said agents with the Transportation Security Administration singled out his special-needs son for a pat-down while the family was headed to Disney World, MyFoxDetroit.com reported, an incident that the TSA admitted was a “case of bad judgment.”

David Mandy said agents at Detroit Metro Airport took his son Drew, 29, and asked him about the padding underneath his pants, which turned out to be adult diapers. Drew, who is severely mentally disabled, had trouble understanding the agents’ orders because his family said he has the mental capacity of a 2-year-old.

When the father tried to intervene and explain Drew’s disability, he said the two agents said, “Please, sir, we know what we’re doing.”

The agents confiscated a six-inch plastic hammer, something Drew had carried with him for 20 years for comfort. Agents called it a security threat, his father said, adding that they tapped the wall with it and said, “See, it’s hard. It could be used as a weapon.”

The family was told they’d have to ship the hammer if they wanted to keep it, David Mandy said.

“I understand they’re trying to keep people safe,” Mandy told MyFoxDetroit.com. “But come on, does he look like a terrorist?”

In a statement to FoxNews.com, the TSA said it’s reviewing the incident but early findings indicate this was an “isolated case of bad judgment.” The TSA reached out to the Mandy family to apologize and said the man’s toy hammer should have never been confiscated.

Day Six- Do you binge? If so, explain why you think you do.

I’m not exactly sure what binging entails. Like, do I sometimes eat food that I shouldn’t? Yes, all the time. Do I overeat? Sometimes. Do I overeat on purpose? Not at all.

I used to do a lot of mindless eating. I would be watching tv and eating chips, or doing homework and eating. I never got full from it.

I also eat when I’m bored, sad, angry. It’s weird, but I’ll finish eating a meal, and then thirty minutes later I’ll be hungry again. I shouldn’t be hungry. I usually eat fruit when that happens.

I don’t think I have a binging problem. I think I have a eating-foods-you-shouldn’t-eat-and-not-exercising-problem, which I’m working on.

I wish one day I’ll feel confident enough to show my head and my body at the same time. For now I’m too ashamed.

? Vegan!
? under 250 calories!

This smoothie is filling enough to count as your whole breakfast, and reeks the rewards of almonds and oatmeal (see my previous recipes to learn about the benefits of oatmeal and almonds). Strawberries are also a wonderful antioxidant. The best part? It tastes like chocolate covered strawberries!

Ingredients

1 cup halved fresh strawberries
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/4 cup dry oatmeal or quick oatmeal
1 tspn unsweetened cocoa powder

Blend all ingredients, serve in a tall glass, and enjoy!

I took a picture for this recipe this time, hope you guys like it! ?

June 13

Small Salad… which is necessary because I’ve been waiting all day long to eat at a friends birthday dinner. I’m irritated only slightly because she chose a breakfast place to eat at. Nearly impossible to find something healthy or that I won’t feel guilty about. I will just have to see how little of it I can eat without getting questioned

I took this this morning just after I got ready.

I decided it was time to stop being ashamed of who I am and do something I would have never done.

This is what I wore out today.

I’ve never tanned the top part of my arms before. This is new.

I feel so good with myself right now.

Today, the 13th of June 2011, I choose ?2Lose. This is my weight loss challenge.

But today I am so stressed and so hungry, that I am going to allow myself as much fruits and veggies my heart desires. Hopefully this will prevent me from eating any junk food and anything unhealthy in general!:)

So until June 27 the following will be my life.

5:15 wake up= early morning workout on yoga mat.

6:30- Breakfast

7:25-2:08- School….. =/ UNTIL NEXT WEEK THEN IT WILL BE EXCERSIZE

2:30- 4- Cardio

5-9- homework slot.

i will lose another 6 pounds before I go. I PROMISE YOU.

if I only get a water to drink at dinner, and then eat less than half of my meal (I have no idea what I’m even getting yet!!!!) I’ll hopefully keep it under +400

dieting sucks

Here is the first photo of me, my stomach to be exact, the area of weight that bugs me the most. Here it is a little bloated from the lovely Chinese I had for my Mum’s Birthday, it is the last big thing I am going to eat, I swear, for me it’s just little portions now.

good date + fuck yeah

Today I went on a taco bell date with my on/off again boyfriend. It was super delicious, and since I counted all three tacos and side of rice into my calories, I ate everything guilt free and felt like a fucking badass.

But before the date, when I saw my guy, he looked me up and down and proclaimed that I looked ‘a lot skinnier than usual, but in a good way.”

Words cannot even begin to describe how happy this made me. He seemed entranced by my flatter stomach, mesmerized by this new hotness I’ve gained. I love it.

We later made out. A lot.

Fuck yeah.

Today I finished the Slimquick Ultra Caffeine Free Calorie Burner(pills) and just started the Slimquick Ultra Fat Burner (drink mixes)

I think the pills were very effective in what the box said they would do, I haven’t weighed myself and won’t weigh myself until my birthday (June26) so I can’t say how much I lost with the pills.  But I will say my hunger was suppressed I had a lot of energy I see a big difference in my body and I would recommend this product to anyone looking to lose weight.
