Why is it that I always talk like Irish people when I’m around them? I was just speaking to a lady at Aer Lingus and I sounded like I was going home to County Cork to live with my leprechaun friends and wear tweed and talk about how accurate ‘Angela’s Ashes’ is.

I wanted to capture the clouds in this scene more than anything....

This was taken at a temple just outside of Busan. This temple offers a view of the ocean along with some great architecture. 
The post processing was a little complex. I used an adjustment layer to creat a monochrome layer and then merged that. After some level adjustment I decided to use a sepia tone filter at 100% density to add an aditional effect.

Dawn this morning was just another blah sunrise with the sun buried behind the clouds. Then about 7:30 the gray changed shape and the storm started forming. It got darker and darker until it was blacker than the night. The lightning started and a video of me trying to catch a shot of it would have been hilarious. I finally got a frame but I have new respect for those that film this evasive event.

I wanted to capture the clouds in this scene more than anything. This building looked interesting enough to be included. This was taken with my film camera with Fuji Pro400H(notice the nice grain?). The only down side is the softness due to my old crappy scanner. A bit of post processing in photoshop to accentuate the depth.

Started volunteering in for Obama re-election campaign in GA. Knocking on doors and calling people is a given and has to get down, but on top of that I’d like to try something new.

Art is a medium that everyone can appreciate. I would like to incorporate some kind of artistic aspect when communicating with others as a neutral thing. thatblckgrl used the “Genuine” when wanting to hear something from politicians. I can understand that. The “hope” piece of Obama in 2008 campaign became the visual slogan. But I’d like to make multiple pieces vs 1 trademark piece.

What kind of art do you like? What communicates to you? Would it matter where the art is?

There’s an online vote for Georgia’s new standard plate. This is generally a cool idea, but what’s not cool is the fact that several of the designs feature the words “In God We Trust”. That’s nice. Because as a non-believer, that’s exactly what I want on my license plate (unless I spring for a specialty one - which I shouldn’t have to). The text seems to be covering the spot where the county name goes, but quite frankly I’m not taking the chance.

Let’s vote for this one! Simple, bold, and resembling a horse’s bum.

This was taken during the Anlaw Hu festival and these kids are at the base of the stage just hanging out. Their elders came up to the edge to take a bow, that’s when I got this shot.

Those of you who followed my trip there may recall that the area is very poor and the majority are farmers. For some of the girls, marriage comes as early as 12 when their parents find them a husband in exchange for a dowry of P10,000 - P20,000 (approx $200 - $400 USD).

Blogger Jailed Over Bad Beef Noodle Review:

We’ve heard of restaurateurs having hissy fits over bad Yelp reviews and even kicking out newspaper reviewers, but jailing a blogger over a bad review? That would be insane… or would it? A Taiwanese blogger was recently sentenced to 30 days in detention, two years of probation and ordered her to pay NT$200,000 in compensation to a Taichung noodle shop she criticized on her blog. what did she say that was so awful?

5 more days till Taiwan.
