????.

Well, I think I did.

I don’t expect myself to be getting hurt whilst travelling but rather I worry about actually getting there and going back. I have no volcano cover so let’s hope Finland’s got my back! Volcano cover, oh gosh, wasn’t that a joke on Simpsons once? I wonder if that was before or after last years fiasco. Anyway, it’s hilarious. To an extent.

checking out a deserted street near my hotel last night…

??

So last weekend ICLP arranged another fun-filled afternoon… this time in Maokang.

The area used to be the biggest tea growing area of Taipei. There are many intertwining footpaths which have been used to transport tea. Now, it is a popular place for tea culture and viewing the night scenery of Taipei City.

It is very easy to get to. You take the Wenhu Line (Brown Line) to the Taipei Zoo Station then you transfer to the super awesome Gondola! The ride is pretty long and it only costs 50NTD.

After the ride, we were able to spend the rest of the afternoon at a lovely old tea house. Though we first received a very extensive vocabulary list of Tea Terminology, Tea Manufacturing Terminology, Tea Classifications, Tea Set Names and Items, and Tea Making Process Terminology.

I didn’t understand much of the lecture given by the tea house proprietor, but he was quite a host. In addition to teaching us how to brew the tea, he provided us with musical entertainment which included flute, drums, and grass-blowing.

And then it rained… and it was beautiful.

mother monster is going to Taiwan soon!! and the chinese news reported how crazy her little monster were, just to get in queue to get the tickets!

I used to drink 3 cups of tea a day, so after I cut it out I had to find a replacement.  Tazo Honeybush herbal tea is my favorite.  Add some stevia and almond milk and you got yourself a caffeine free, tea free, coffee free, dairy free, soy free, latte.  Hits the spot!

Day 5

  • more tea yay!

Roobios with Lemon Verbena:] Cinnamon with condensed milk & black tea.

  • huuuuuge dinner, so full I can’t even fathom going to the gym. Salmon with angel hair pasta, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, & calamari. OH, and pineapple juice.

listening to my awesome “meditation” playlist on youtube, while not meditating.

did lay down for a brief minutes and just concentrated on my breathing and how each individual part of my body felt. lots of heat coming from my belly area, cussing me out. angry at the vast amount of food I consumed for dinner, haha.

Break Your Daily Soda Habit

Dr. David Katz says that a cup of tea can infuse you with antioxidants instead of the wallop of sugar you get in a can of soda. Green, black and especially white—drink it hot or iced: all offer the powerful nutrients and a boost of caffeine. Dr. Katz says that if diet soda (better) is your vice, opt for water (best) as your thirst quencher of choice. There is no better beverage than water to help you stay hydrated, which is important in keeping body systems running well. Diet soda quenches thirst, but some experts still worry that its artificial sweeteners may be linked to cancer. Dr. Katz’s main concern with them is that they propagate a sweet tooth, which leads to more sugar intake and the overall deterioration of the diet.

a Cup of Tea and a Slice of Cake, please***

One of the rituals that I have and love is drinking tea. I love almost all types of tea but one of my favorite is mint. Mint tea is the best. And if there is a cookie to eat with that tea. Now that is just perfection
