Uncle Julio’s offers solid Tex-Mex cuisine in a sleek atmosphere. Sure it’s meant to resemble an nineteenth century-style cantina with bull horns on the walls and lots of Mexican tile overhangs, but it’s got a kind of state-of-the-art, clean design that makes you trust you’re not going to find a cigarette butt inside your burrito.
My Plato Tampiqueno featured a 6-ounce portion of carne asada, a cheese and onion enchilada, and the obligatory rice and beans. The steak was nice and thin with good flavor, and I really enjoyed the oniony sweetness in the enchilada, something I had not seen before at other Mexican places. With so many Tex-Mex restaurants in the area, this one does stand out among the best.

Class all morning then had what was supposed to be a half hour meeting with my research advisor which turned into about 3 & a half hours. Finally had lunch about 4pm. Finished the day off strong with some mexican food & a thirsty thursday greenjackets game!

Driving into the concert we got our first sniff of this kind of freedom when we glanced to the right from the highway and saw naked people everywhere jumping in the river, up in trees, etc. Our first reaction was to laugh our asses off…fuckin’ fun-time crazies I thought…We knew instantly there was a different paradigm at hand and I remember feeling an immediate sense of excitement about what it was going to be like.
