for the life of me the only two books I can never seem to finish are Saramago’s “The Double” (I know he’s fantastic, I’m sorry but the man needs to learn that punctuation marks exist) and Welsh’s “Trainspotting”. Ave had both books for over four years now and still I remain halfway through both.

I loved the movie then and I still love it now (except for the suppository - toilet scene, that really kicks the life out of me O_O) and I want to love the book but I’m not as well-versed in colloquial Irish as I thought I could be. :( 

Someday I WILL finish “Trainspotting”, just probably not in 24 hours tops.

So far the book’s been good.:P 

and I think I need / want an Irish boyfriend to explain to me the ins and outs of Welsh’s writing! That or I move to Ireland to finish the book.:)

what the fuck is wrong with society?

why should i look in the mirror and be disgusted by what i see, just because i’m not perfect?

i’ve always been told i’m thin. that i’m blessed with a nice figure.

but i still wear loose shirts. i still tuck my stomach into my pants and button them just barely too tight. i do everything to try and reach that perfect, flat, beautiful stomach i see everywhere.

magazines. television. models. moviestars. everywhere you look, there’s a woman with a flat stomach, inflated breasts, a round butt, long legs, and perfectly tanned, clear skin.

and even though i know better, even though i’ve been told i’m beautiful before, i don’t believe it, and i torture myself because i’m dying to be better. thinner. prettier.

i eat healthier. i exercise like the crazy.

fuck, i’ve even starved myself. not because i wanted to, but because when i get stressed, i don’t eat. and i’ve been far too stressed over how i look before, to the point where i’ve forgotten food even existed.

and i hate every minute of it when i do. but it’s how i cope.

and nothing changes. so i do it all again. and every time, it hurts a little more.

so why does society do this to us? why do we unknowingly put people through this every day?

A Rainy Day

I have the day off.  I woke up feeling pretty crappy this morning: upset stomach, headache, body ache.  My mom made me get up and go for a walk at 5:45 am, though.  What a BLEEP.  I mean.  I love my mom, but wtf.  It’s my day off.  So, now I’m tired.  I’m cold. And I need to at least lift weights today.  I’m feeling better at least.

It’s sort of rainy out today.  It kind of makes me want to sleep all day instead of do homework.  Blah. :/

Anyway.  So today, tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday I’m going to be making up my grocery list.  No more than $20 of groceries.  That’s all the money I have.  So, if any of you have something you would like to contribute please do so!  Thanks lovelies! :)
