The former site of Hitler’s Bunker: since bombed, caved in, marked only by this sign. The area is now a carpark for a block of Soviet flats built under the GDR, a block away from the Holocaust Memorial and the memorial for homosexuals. And who says the Germans don’t have a sense of humour?

Day 8- A magical place outdoors [44 Days of Witchery]

The Black Forest. Maybe it’s not a “legitimately” magical place but it is beyond beautiful. I was lucky enough to see some of it a few years ago while visiting family and it was amazing. A lot of fairy tales are said to be based in the Black Forest and you can actually find castles and the like here as well!

Two days ago a bunch of us decided to travel to a nearby lake, Lake Amersee. It was about an hour on the train, but IT WAS FREE. Its crazy how we can ride public transit to a place that would top any travel destination back in Ohio. We will definitely be going back… a Hofbräu Weißbier with this view… it’s a no-brainer.
