“Thank you, Ludwig.”
I’m not entirely sure where I am. I tried google-mapping the street I’m on but nothing showed up. I know that I’m somewhere along the Rhine (river) though, and also near the Moselle river.
I think today I drank more than I ate….
I did wine tasting in an old monastery that was built in 1136, and bought some rose liqueur. For dinner, I went to a family restaurant run from their home and drank more Rhine wine. And homemade ginger and walnut schnapps. And homemade elderberry schnapps. And homemade currant schnapps. The chef told me I was “missing out on life” when I explained to her what veganism was. The irony being that this, right now, is my life, and I’m not the one working in a tiny restaurant in a tiny town (that doesn’t even show up on google maps…) passing judgement on something completely irrelvant. (Except for maybe on the entire situation right now, but this is a dumb blog and not real life.)
And then we walked home through vineyards at sunset, and I broke us into a castle that was built in 1118 where we found a bunch of fairy lights and an art class that was having an exhibition. And then, we climbed someone’s fence and ate cherries off their tree, and jumped the neighbours fence to “borrow” some blueberries.
But on second thoughts, they won’t be getting those blueberries back anytime soon/ever….
Oh Lordie !
Where I’m going towards the end of summer.

From Kצln we drove down through Koblenz, but unfortunately there was a massive gardening festival on and there was no where to park so we couldn’t stop. We drove down through the Moselle Valley and stopped in Cochem for the night. Here, we wandered amongst the cobblestone streets and over the old city wall before heading up to the Pinnerkreuz which provides an incredible view over Cochem and much of the valley. The following day we headed up to the Reichsburg - an old castle that was built in 1100.
1kg of cherries for €5!
Do not swing… Didn’t really plan on it.
Hotel room view.
View of the Moselle and vineyards from the Reichsburg.
Somewhere along the Moselle.
Being a tourist with a duck fountain - mostly for Dane.
…has been: job applications, red wine, Settlers of Catan, deep annoyance with a certain someone and then deep appreciation for a different certain someone, the English Garden, soup making, North Korea obsessions, Postcrossing, tea, babies, vacuuming, new shoes, goodbyes, walks, Mozart, and hats.
It feels a bit strange to look at all the things we did just so recently and how distant it feels.
-a lot.
-some more.
-“wait, they serve alcoholic cider here? kellnerin!”
