Staying at this place with my crazy ass cousins and brother for a week. It’s gonna be insane, there’s a bar IN the pool. what. I’m probably gonna die next week, just letting you all know that I’ll at least be going out with a bang and in this fucking gorgeous place. Didn’t really get super excited for this vacation till Thursday night. It’s gonna be NUTS.

WHAT’S THE POINT OF DRINKING 8 GLASSES OF WATER?
There are so many health and body blogs on tumblr these days, so I figured I’d make my own! I have always been thin and skinny. Being an adult male, this can be difficult sometimes - especially in environments where people show off their bodies, like pools, the beach, and so on. In middle and high school, I was always the “lanky” kid. This eventually got me to start working out more. I slowly gained more muscle and strength, and pretty soon, all my friends were commenting on how I’d gained weight and tone. After a year or two of that, it eventually fell by the wayside again, and I became too comfortable with myself. This is me now…
Compared to how I looked about a year ago, I’m just a LITTLE smaller, but I’ve lost a lot of the muscle I had before. So now it’s time! I’ve been working out fairly consistently for the past couple weeks, and am now at that point where I feel good about the whole process. I’m beginning to eat more healthily (I was eating a lot back when I was bigger, so that explains the weight loss) and now I just want to feel great about my body again. Right now, I’d say I feel bad, but not terrible. Well, here it goes! I will be posting pictures once a week to see how I’m doing. Hopefully by the end of summer I can show off!

Control Appetite and Get a Fit Body with Healthy Snack Recipes:Everybody knows that there are a number of foods that are usually superior eating selections than others. What’s not so simple in the real world is actually putting everything we know about wholesome eating into our life.
In simple terms, it’s hard in order to balance all those munchies with the healthy foods we know we should be consuming. Even if you take time to ingest 3 meals per day, you might still feel hungry at times. OK, what’s the solution?
Healthy Snack Recipes.
Chowing down on healthy food items can easily keep your vitality level high and…

GOTTA PUT IN THAT HALF MARATHON TRAINING TIME!!
DETERMINATION FACE!
Let’s see if I can organize my brain enough for this; it’s so hot here today. I’m in the AC, but I was just out and it’s terrible.
Saw the naturopathic doctor. First visit was very good; my mom went with me, because I don’t retain information about what she and my dad have for health issues, much less anyone further back than that. All of my records from the last couple of years did in fact get faxed over, so she’d had that to look at and work from, plus the two things I filled out for her for that day, and the report from the symptom checklist I took to the chiropractor. She sent us away with a promise that she’d have a full plan a week later when I saw her again, as well as supplements at a reduced price for us because we’re poor. That appointment was today, and I went on my own this time.
I’ve got seven pill-form supplements now, which I’ll go into detail about later once I’ve napped and processed this a little. I’ve also got three powder-form supplements to go into a daily smoothie. Total was $135, but that’s for 2-3 months worth of each thing, so it’s a pretty good deal.
She also wants me to go gluten-free.
And she wants me to try and cut some caffeine out, mostly by switching to green tea, and not putting any milk in it (milk neutralizes the beneficial aspect of both black and green tea, which is why Western culture hasn’t seen as much of a benefit from drinking it as Eastern culture does). I’ll still have coffee once in a while, or decaf a lot more often, because I like it.
Gluten-free.
I was perfectly fine while she was talking about it, but now that it’s sinking in I’m actually getting a little upset. This is going to be a huge step to take, and it’s making me as depressed now as it was just from the thought of it back when I was dealing with the gastroenterologist and getting tested for celiac (which I don’t have, but plenty of people are gluten-sensitive without being celiac positive). All those foods that aren’t nearly as good without gluten, all those things I simply won’t be able to have anymore because there’s no gluten-free equivalent. Yes, doing this will probably make me feel loads better, but it’s a lifestyle change, and I’m not sure I’m ready to take it yet. I’ll probably feel better about it tomorrow, but goddamn.
I just started my period like an hour ago, too, and it’s storming, AND it’s horribly hot out, so my body’s not really sure whether crying is in order, or getting mad, or just being terribly bummed. It’s safe to say that I am Not Happy right now, though.
Today’s lesson in health is the reproductive system and sex and pregnancy.
Ewww it’s showing pictures and diagrams of stuff I do not want.
This won’t be a fun lesson.
I won’t be surprised if I fail this lesson’s assessment.
Nasty. Looking at it grosses me out.

WHAT’S THE POINT OF DRINKING 8 GLASSES OF WATER?
I have been making numerous improvements to my health in terms of what I consume. A big one has been what I drink and when I drink it.
What I’m talking about is water.
Since around January I have been making a big effort to drink more water and less non-water liquids. I drink much less juices (large amounts of unnatural sugars) and no longer drink sodas (no benefit whatsoever). I have a 27oz canteen water bottle that has become my new sidekick, filling it up about 4-6 times a day (so i drink about 4 liters of water a day). So I’ve felt great because I feel I have detoxed my body from all the bullshit chemical foods I used to eat before.
And then, I hit a wall>Is it too much? Is this water (“purified” with flouride) even good for me?
(you know what’s annoying, the fact that when ‘they’ tell you how many glasses of water to drink, ‘they’ never the size of the glass, or take into consideration the fact that no one has identical bodies therefore have different water requirements …I digress..)
In my research I found a very interesting, very bold (haha i had to do it) claim about drinking water: Drink as little as possible.
Reason being: Our bodies are not designed to drink water.
“Humans are not naturally water-drinking creatures, for they have absolutely no equipment for it as have natural water-drinking animals.” The only thing that water is good for is to serve as a “transport medium.”
There are many different types of water, believe it or not.
Mineral water, well water, spring water, tap water, distilled water, water in foods and drink. Many argue that distilled water is the best because it removes toxins such as fluoride and parasites. However, distilled water should only be consumed to temporarily detoxify the body, and not as a substitute for regular filtered water for it becomes acidic (sources for this argument and discussion:

And yet, these are not pure sources of water. One of the purest forms of water is found in fruits, which also contain vital minerals for the body. Fruits are able to contain water inside of them with minimal contact to poisonous toxins.
Bottomline:
If your diet is water-sufficient, then there is no need to be drinking a lot of water, unless it’s hot weather or if you exercise regularly. Eat more fruit, particularly right after you wake up. If you munch on eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes with juice, you are not doing your body justice. It just woke up, meaning it needs time to “break-the-fast,” thus why it is called “breakfast.” So, help it adjust with some fruit and if needed, water. What I do is drink water first to wake my digestive system up and prepare it for food after.
My mom tells me that it’s better to eat acidic fruit (orange, apples, pineapple) in the morning and sweeter fruit (banana, grapes, melons) later in the day. Do your best to eat each color of fruit every day, for health and spiritual purposes. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as “the best fruit.” We need a balanced, well-rounded diet of minerals and vitamins to keep our bodies well-maintained and healthy.
Also, beware of how much water you use when cooking, because that water counts too, and too much water can absorb the minerals from your food.
AND PLEASE, AVOID BOTTLED WATER AT ALL COSTS! sorry that was a knee-jerker.
Be safe, HTP.

I tried to sleep off and on last night with a little bit of a sore throat. Now it hurts to swallow. I am so excited for five hours of teaching.
Just realized I never put up a single picture from the field day.
It wasn’t in Yongsan, but actually just around the river bend at Camp Walker.
It was really intense & some of the games (like “kick your shoe into the air” or “put your head on the bat & spin around & try to do an obstacle course) were mayyybe a bit too dangerous for the kids, but all in all it was fun.
As you can see, the blue group is best.
