.Ireland has the best food I have ever consumed, ever

.despite contrary belief, it isn’t that expensive to thrive in Ireland

.technology always seems to ruin everything, which is ironic since it has been designed to help us

.keeping up with facebook, tumblr, study abroad blog and the most recent ‘Moodle’ platform for Irish school is exhausting and rather unenjoyable. I think I will begin to post more consistently here and then anything/anyone else can do with that what they please

.as much as i love Ireland, i might be allergic to this beautiful land; i’m starting to resemble sneezey the dwarf

It’s been stormy every day this week so I have been frustrated every time I do not have my camera near to catch a storm.  I left the camera running almost the entire time for this storm and made very few edits.  iMovie kind of destroyed the original quality so I will re-edit this one once I get Final Cut.  For now, for your viewing pleasure, here it today’s storm.

My Gid Tanner T-shirt; Art work by banjo player Frank Lee.

Gid wasn’t the best fiddler to come out of northern Georgia during the 1920s, but he was a colorful character and the charismatic leader of the seminal old-time string band The Skillet Lickers.

I’ve been thinking about it long and hard and I finally decided on what I want my Cartel tattoo to be. I was listening to one of my favorite songs by them, Georgia and it just hit me. So…drum roll please, here it is…

“What good does us reason if we fail to see? What good does us freedom is we fail to be free?”

Basically, I cannot wait!

These are some of the most incredible photographs I've ever seen. Full color, high quality, from Russia 1909-1912.:

I highly encourage you to check them out, you would not believe these images are 100 years old.  Stunning.

Part of my photographic workflow is to take a digital photograph with my cellphone of the location where I am shooting. This helps me find the places again on a map, and to help with geotagging the shots later when I upload them to Flickr.

While I’m down South, I don’t have access to a lab or a computer to upload new photos, but I thought it might be fun to upload some of these “location” shots as a sort of break from my polished (I use the term loosely) finished photos.

Anyway, here’s the abandoned Regency Mall in south Augusta. Once the rain here lets up, I’ll be doing some long exposures of this spot.

Because I’m not going with anyone and that always makes me feel awkward and I’m going to be in costume so…yeah. I really want to be able to meet up with people or something. So basically if you’re planning on being there, message me.

Fingers crossed

People who are sitting and reading book are the most intriguing people I can ever meet in streets or parks. Especially if they are quite old because they’ve got a lot of stories to tell. =P

Green is far more than a color to us. It’s a symbol for everything that we are, and everything that we’ve been through.

When I was three years old, my family took a vacation to Northern Ireland for my Nana and Papa’s 50th wedding anniversary. I honestly don’t remember much about this trip but it does hold my first and favorite memory. I remember sitting at the top of the stairs at my Nana and Papa’s while everyone else was in their rooms just doing their own thing. I was trying incessantly to tie my shoes for the very first time and kept failing. Then, for the first time in my life, in a foreign country no less, I tied my shoes. I cannot express how happy I was in that moment. I screamed at the top of my lungs for everyone to come out. They all raced out of their rooms to see what was going on. When I showed my family my freshly tied shoes, my moms first response was “They are on the wrong feet”. I was so devastated because I was convinced that I would never be able to tie them again. And that is exactly what I told my mom. Thus began my life long flaw of no confidence in myself whatsoever. Why this is my favorite memory, I have no idea. But to this day, it is. The end

I THINK YOU WILL FIND THIS RELEVANT TO OUR INTERESTS

That movie I planned to love but instead sort of hated

LOOK FAMILIAR?

BECAUSE IT SHOULD

The Rock of Dunamase

Which we visited

TWICE

(Because the tour guide screwed up

we were supposed to go to the Cliffs of Moher

but all’s well

because I got better photos the second time around

So if they thought they could sneak this past me they were wrong

It’s embedded in my brain through two sets of photo edits)

(such liars. The movie put it next to that train station and called it the Rock of Cuchulainn or something. LIKE NO ONE WOULD NOTICE)

What I am saying, Hannah

is

that

our feet have trod the same dirt as Matthew Goode.
