schoolhouse rocks

Can we talk curb appeal?
And door straps?
And gables?

This is another one of those First Option
unique properties in England known as "schoolhouse"
offered for photo shoots, and it charmed me.

I love how when you step inside
it turns out not to be one of those dusty,
granny, cluttery places plastered with chintz...

it's lofty.

Loving the windows?

Okay, the counters ARE a little granny
clutterish, but now I'm believing
people live here, and it's not just
another photo shoot location.

Speaking of school, it's spring break
for ours...and this year we're traveling to...

THE GNARLY BASEMENT.

And by "we" I mean my husband!
But you already knew that.

It's not all beer and skittles here, ya know!
He's swingin the hammer, and I...
I've almost reached the ends of the internet...

I'll have some pics soon of the reno.
(we have electricity!).

Hugs.

thornton and bregazzi.

LOVE.
The talented couple who created
the fashionable brand PREEN
(Thornton & Bregazzi)
live in this romantic-licious
apartment.

So dang chic.
Does this not just RELEASE you
to display your TV
howevertheheck you want?
For cryin' out loud,
repurpose some old catalogs and magazines.

I know I just posted about paring down
in regards to stuff, and I am.
But nothing can stop me from picking up
a disco ball (for PENNIES...pennies, I tell you!)
at the flea market.

Dusty blue tulle, the Smiths, and Return of the Jedi.
I think the equation here is
make it personal + interesting mix = cool.

atlanta bartlett

Atlanta Bartlett
is a geniuslicious interior styling Brit.
Do these spaces remind you of
others I frequently post?

Ahhhh, yes...so many dressed in white
English country houses I feature
have receive the Atlanta Bartlett treatment.

Her style is so relaxed, accessible,
and elegant.
Atlanta has written best-sellers
such as my favorite,
AT HOME WITH WHITE,
a book I will never tire of.

With husband, David Coote,
Atlanta runs a locations agency called
THE BEACH STUDIOS.
Her touch makes all those locations magical.

christina strutt

One of my favorite library/dining rooms EVER!
UK designer Christina Strutt is a true genius,
and her vintage-inspired fabrics are dreamy.

Heather grey love on a waffle cone,
truly I don't know where to begin.
Christina's combination of toile, stripe, and floral
has timeless elegance.
Clearly she must open one of her
Cabbages and Roses shops in the U.S.

Her designs and wares are made for
true LIVING...
And more on her clothing later!
(hint: I'd love to strut my stuff in Strutt's stuff.)
