Shoe-Shaped Vehicle' IKONE Zero-emission Concept by Karim Guelmi

The IKONE is a concept three-wheeled vehicle designed by Karim Guelmi, a Montreal-based graduate from the University of Quebec in Montreal. The concept has been designed in collaboration with the Montreal-based company Fun-E Cycles. The one-seater vehicle is a vision of an eco-friendly society where humans could make use of alternative fuels for commuting.

The concept vehicle has 18.5-liters of storage space above the rear wheel. The design and strong DNA of the vehicle evokes lightness and fluidity as well as a symbiotic relationship between the rider and the ride.

The IKONE has been thought with the necessity to reduce its parts to a minimum, which further reduces the production costs. The electric engines of the vehicle have been designed to be powered by lithium batteries. Here's The Shoe-Shaped Vehicle' IKONE Zero-Emission designer by Karim Guelmi :

Green GT LeMans Prototype Design Car by Thomas Clavet

GreenGT LeMans Prototype | Design Car by Thomas Clavet
The Green GT LeMans prototype is a vehicle designed by Thomas Clavet, a transport design student from the ISD (Institut Supérieur de Design) design school in Valenciennes, France. The vehicle was created for Green GT, a Swiss company who specialize in cutting edge environmentally friendly technology for the automotive sector. Green GT are also actively involved in the development of racing vehicles and products which have a limited impact on the environment.

GreenGT LeMans Prototype | Design Car by Thomas Clavet
While the LeMans prototype is currently just a concept it does provide a hint at what sort of vehicles could be coming from GreenGT in the next few years. If the GreenGT LeMans prototype were to go into production it could utilize a similar drivetrain to GreenGT’s current electric race car. This vehicle is equipped with a pair of electric motors which combined make between 350 – 400 horsepower and a jawdropping 2,000 Nm (1,475 ft-lbs) of torque. In a lightweight composite construction vehicle like the GreenGT LeMans prototype it should provide for truly electrifying performance (please excuse the pun).

GreenGT LeMans Prototype | Design Car by Thomas Clavet
The exterior design of the concept displays all the purposeful and necessary aerodynamic aids found on current GT race cars, except on the GreenGT LeMans prototype there seems to be a clean efficiency to the overall design. The nose section is particularly successful and incorporates a pair of LED headlight into the front spoiler. The side mirrors look more like modern art sculptures than necessary safety features. Air brakes have also been cleverly incorporated into the front and rear wheel arches to improve downforce during braking.

Honda Indy Racing Car

Car Designs-Honda Indy Racing Car By Yutian Li

Car Designs: Honda Indy Racing Car By Yutian Li-The Honda Indy Racing Car project was sponsored by Honda and and the Indy Racing League. The vehicle’s designer by Yutian Li, is a graduate of the Transportation Design course at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Yutian also holds a bachelors degree in vehicle engineering and a masters in industrial design from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The overall shape of the Honda Indy Racing Car was inspired by modern architecture – but more specifically Zaha Hadid’s work which is greatly influenced by topological patterns found in nature and has a high degree of fluidity and continuity.

Car Designs-Honda Indy Racing Car By Yutian Li
Yutian applied this theme to vehicle design by using a combination of blended surfaces, and crossing/overlapping shapes in order to bring a whole new look to the future Indy Car Series. Aside from bringing completely new forms to the racing world, the Honda Indy Racing Car has also been designed to offer superior aerodynamic performance. The large integrated rear wing located above the engine creates downforce over the rear axle.

This downforce is increased once the engine is up at operating temperature because of the pressure difference between hot and cold air. The side panel directs the air to go around the wheels so that rotating drag is reduced. The air box on either side of the driver and the large air intakes in the front ensure sufficient airflow to the engine. As with all racing vehicles, driver safety in the event of a crash is the utmost priority. The driver of the Honda Indy Racing Car concept is protected by a structure which was inspired by the shape of leaves. This unit is designed to diffuse the energy of the collision, and at the same time keep the interior cockpit structure intact.

Car Designs-Honda Indy Racing Car By Yutian Li
Aside from keeping the rear tires firmly in contact with the track surface, the expansive rear spoiler also acts as a prominent billboard which could make the Indy series more attractive to sponsors. The stripe which divides this spoiler in two contains a thermally sensitive material which changes color depending on engine temperature. This is designed to add more excitement to the race and the spectators.via
