Good news for Jackie Evancho fans.
On July 18, 2011 the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified Jackie’s “Dream With Me” album as GOLD.
Congratulations to our favorite young crossover singer.
Evancho’s “Dream With Me” was released on June 14 and has really created a buzz around the young singer since her second place showing on “America’s Got Talent”.
Jackie’s first album “O Holy Night” which was released in November 10, 2010 not only went Gold, but was certified as Platinum on December 10, 2010 – one month after release.
We suspect that Platinum status for “Dream With Me” is only a month or so away and will be a great boost for her going into Grammy season.

The Recording Industry Association of America awards certification based on the number of albums and singles sold through retail and other secondary markets like iTunes and Amazon.
In order to achieve GOLD status an artist must sell 500,000 units, and PLATINUM status is one million units sold. The current category Multi-Platinum requires unit sales of two million or more.
Not bad for an 11-year-old prodigy.
In fact, she appeared last night on the ABC 20/20 special about Super Humans with Super Powers. It was an amazing segment if you didn’t catch it.

Jackie is still tracking well on the Billboard top 200 and is currently in 12th place beating out Lady Gaga, and still tracking in the number ONE position on the Billboard Classical charts.

Okay, next stop is Platinum and a Grammy Award so let’s throw our support behind her as much as we can. Think of all the people you know who could use a good classical CD for Christmas this year.
Go Jackie!

World’s Most Expensive BBQ Grill – Gold Plated and Only $165,000 - Photo
Okay men, here’s your chance.
Now you can be the talk of the neighborhood.
Picture this – Labor Day weekend you have the guys over for a cookout and a few beers, hot dogs and all the fixings, a hamburger or two, and you unveil your new grill to all your jealous friends.
That’s right!
For only $165,000 you can own the World’s most expensive BBQ grill. The unit comes complete with:
Six-burner barbecue, Wok burner, Roasting hood, Warming rack, High-output burners, Quartz start ignition, Vaporizer grid, Reflector system, Varmint spit, Cup holders, Grease trap, Gold knobs, Thermostat, Auto Lock Wheels, Wi-Fi connection, and cookbook.
The best part?
It’s all individually plated in 24-carat gold and built by hand. And it can be yours for a measly $165,000.
The grill is made by the Australian company BeefEater Barbecues who refers to it as “the ultimate in backyard grill bling”.
They say the company created the golden grill for individuals who “want to make a statement with their barbecue and have the money to burn”.
Boy, they sure do things differently down under, eh mate?
In case anyone has any sympathy for me, this is what I used last weekend to entertain my friends:
I like to refer to it as “the ultimate in redneck cooking and front yard cooking bling”.
