For one reason or another, there's a sequel to Salt being made...
Sony Pictures is moving forward on its much speculated Salt sequel. Kurt Wimmer has begun writing it for Angelina Jolie to reprise her role as Evelyn Salt, the CIA agent who spent the first movie running for her life after being outed as a Russian spy. The studio smartly left open a window for a possible sequel at the climax of the original, which was directed by Phillip Noyce. Now, Universal Pictures tried to draft a sequel of Wanted and it didn't happen. This is different. Jolie wants to do to do the Salt sequel if it comes together right. I'm told that Wimmer has officially signed on and is working away. The original grossed around $300 million worldwide for Sony Pictures.

Billy Bob Thornton’s Daughter Found Guilty in Death of 1-Year-Old Girl
His estranged oldest daughter, Amanda Brumfield, was found guilty of the accidental death of her friend’s 1-year-old daughter, after claiming the girl died when she fell from her playpen.
Brumfield was originally charged with murder and child abuse.
The death was caused by a 1-inch fracture to the young girl’s skull and bleeding from the brain, but Brumfield maintained her defense that the child died by accident.
The jury agreed with her and found her guilty of manslaughter, a lesser crime, and accidental death instead.
Brumfield is expected back in an Orlando Florida court room in July to receive her sentence.
Billy Bob has not had contact with his oldest daughter for years. She was the child of Thornton and Melissa Lee Gatlin.
After Thornton and Gatlin divorced, Billy Bob married and divorced again before getting hitched to Hollywood A-list actress Angelina Jolie. That marriage ended in divorce also and Jolie went on to marry actor Brad Pitt.
Thornton is best known for his roles in The Informers, Mr. Woodcock, School for Scoundrels, Bad News Bears, Friday Night Lights, Bad Santa, Monster's Ball, Pushing Tin, Primary Colors, Sling Blade, Indecent Proposal, just to name a few.
The actor is currently filming the animated movie “Puss in Boots” due out later this year, and “The Baytown Disco”, a thriller about three redneck brothers who agree to help a woman save her son from an abusive father.
Thornton is also the lead singer of the band Boxmasters.

FilmDistrict Acquires Rian Johnson's next film Looper and Angelina Jolie's directorial debut!
No studio has kept busier over the past few days then FilmDistrict. On Thursday, FilmDistrict announced the acquisition of U.S. distribution rights to Arabian Nights, the 3D period action adventure led by Liam Hemsworth, and Playing the Field, the little league soccer comedy starring Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel.
Today the studio announced two more pickups: the time travel thriller Looper and Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey. Looper is the latest from writer/director Rian Johnson (The Brother’s Bloom), and we’ve geeked out about the production pretty extensively here at Collider — good to know it has distribution secured with Tri Star. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt star.
Today FilmDistrict also gave Jolie’s Bosnian Civil War drama a title and a release date: In the Land of Blood and Honey is scheduled for an Oscar-friendly December 23 release. More on all four movies after the break:
No press release yet for In the Land of Blood and Honey. But Jolie said in a statement to Variety:
“The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it’s also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living inside a war.”
The cast includes Zana Majonovic (Snow) in the lead role and Rade Šerbedžija (Snatch); Brad Pitt is supposed to cameo. Šerbedžija provided this synopsis:
[In the Land of Blood and Honey] is a love story about a young Serb and a Muslim woman who fell in love several evenings before beginning of war in Bosnia. The action follows war events with the young Muslim woman ending up in a Serbian concentration camp from where she is somehow saved by the young Serb. Their love becomes passionate but impossible.
The official announcement — including extensive production details — for the other three movies follow:

Breakup - Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Are Done
In what will become one of the biggest Hollywood splits of all time, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are calling it quits and have signed the papers on how to split their massive fortunes and children.News outlets are reporting that Angelina and Brad started the breakup process in December when they visited a top divorce lawyer to begin working out how to split things up.
As of today, they will split their money equally and have shared custody of their six children. The kids however, will live with Jolie full time.
Since the couple is not married, the documents are reported to be more like a powerful prenuptial agreement - but for unmarried people.
There is no date penned yet on the documents, and it looks more like they are just getting everything ready for when they decide to officially split.
They have three adopted children - Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, and Zahara, 5, and three biological kids Shiloh, 3, and 17- month-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Their joint fortune of about $350 million includes mansions in France, California and New Orleans.
Rumors have been circulating for months that the couple's relationship was doomed.
We suspect the $350 million is just the combined, joint income since the couple has been together - because we know Pitt is worth close to a billion dollars.
This could get very ugly.
