Rapper Method Man shouted out the group had been treated "like the f---ing Taliban" when they touched down in the UK, as the group played a Pyramid Stage set on Friday afternoon.
It's not known where or when the New Yorkers arrived in the UK -- nor why their welcome deserved such a comparison. The band had initially flown in to the UK for London dates on 11 June before playing other dates across the country and elsewhere in Europe.
Nevertheless the group's set was given almost universally positive reviews from quick-fingered reviewers on Friday afternoon, with their rendition of 'Gravel Pit' being chosen as a live highlight on BBC 6 Music's radio coverage of the festival. The group had come onstage saluting their former member Ol' Dirty Bastard, who died in 2004.
The group's next date on their European leg of the 'Rebirth' tour is in Paris, France, on Tuesday (28 June). Let's hope customs staff on duty during their trip across the English Channel aren't easily upset.
