Look Twice, Save A Life - Make That Two:If you don’t know the Motorcycle Awareness campaign slogan there it is - Look Twice, Save A Life. However, people need to think a lot more about their driving habits and what it could cost them to be careless.
Recently, there was a really horrible tragedy here in which a police officer lost his life in an off-duty accident when he was hit while riding his motorcycle. I didn’t know him well personally, although I had met him once and he was a part of a very proud moment in my life, I have friends that were close to him. He lost his life because someone was driving carelessly.
Tonight on the news they finally announced the woman that hit him is now in jail on second degree vehicular manslaughter charges.
Seeing the picture, it tore my heart. On one hand, this woman carelessly and recklessly took a life. I don’t know her, but she reminds me of my neighbor, an older woman in her fifties. She may not even have a speeding ticket on her record, she may have kids, grandkids, a mortgage, like to bake or crochet, but none of that matters. She’s going to jail because she didn’t pay attention making that one left hand turn. Maybe she just isn’t that great of a driver, talks or texts too much when she drives, and has had some close calls before and this time it was tragic. I don’t know. I do know that this one time cost someone their life and her because not only is she facing charges, she’s going to have to live with herself forever knowing what she’s done.
It just really brings home the point the fact that when you get in that moving piece of metal, you’re propelling forward something that can cause serious damage and it’s a good idea to act like it when you’re behind the wheel.

COLLEGE PARK, GA!

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal’s program to replace fleeing migrant farmworkers with probationers backfired when some of the convicted criminals started walking off their jobs because field work was too strenuous, it was reported Wednesday.
And the state’s farms could lose up to $1 billion if crops continue to go unpicked and rot, the president of the Georgia Agribusiness Council warned.
. . .
Georgia, which passed an Arizona-style immigration bill in April that is due to take effect next month, has seen thousands of undocumented immigrants flee the state. A state survey released last week found 11,080 vacant positions on state farms that needed to be filled to avoid losing crops.

This was a fun day. Almost getting run over made it even better. I do love adrenaline rushes.
My and Murad’s first time ever talking on the phone! I love my buddy from Georgia.
