Issey Miyake was an interesting adventure, this being the companies first since the departure of Dai Fujiwara. There were a lot of blues, references to traditional Asian clothing and Sarouels, it was a very grounded collection. I liked it a lot for being from the house if Issey, and a very wearable collection, which somewhat fails Issey’s original ideals (having once said “I don’t want anyone to look at my clothing and say ‘I understand that’”). That being said, this may be moving the house into a larger market!

This is a picture of my digital camera’s display, so it may be a bit fuzzy, but here are some things we learned in Paris:
Escargot and frog legs are really good. Even Laura liked them.
Disneyland Paris is awesome!
Being Canadian is advantageous. We met some fellow Canadians at the hostel and went to Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower with two of them, Andrew and Annie. Coming out of the metro on our way to the Tower, Andrew started talking to some other English-speakers from Saskatchewan. They happened to have two tickets to Disneyland they couldn’t use and Andrew and Annie were leaving for Nice the next day. So we got them! And it was awesome!
Sometimes, there’s an ordeal. Video explanation forthcoming.
