Rock's most bitter case of sibling rivalry shows no sign of abating after Liam Gallagher posted a cryptic tweet that sounds like another dig at his brother.

Liam tweeted, "1 Word....Dido," possibly a single word review about his brother's debut solo single 'The Death Of You And Me.' Earlier this month, when Noel Gallagher announced his return to the music scene, the younger ex-bandmate tweeted "S***BAG."

If the former Oasis singer confines such broadsides to his Twitter feed, Noel will be grateful, judging by comments he has made in Mojo magazine. Quoted by NME.com, the Mancunian star complained about cryptic messages left by his brother.

"I would be getting up in the morning and our answering machine would have strange messages from him in the middle of the night," he explained. "It started off as offensive, then weird, and finally creepy."

Noel confronted his brother about the messages, he added, though Liam denied any involvement, saying: "I don't know what you're talking about." Changing his phone number was no help, either. "He started leaving messages on my girlfriend's phone," Noel complained. "She'd get up in the morning and there would be things like, 'Tell your f***ing boyfriend....' This was insane."

'The Death Of You And Me' -- the first single from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is out 21 August.
