JULY 2011-THE HOTTEST MONTH EVER FOR BALTIMORE.

We were miserable, and agitated {more so} all last month. Among the dubious 'highlights' were the hottest single day, the day with the hottest LOWEST temperature-like 83 degrees, and most 90 plus degree days. The heat is so bad it just makes you want to bang a bunny rabbit up against a wall {disclaimer-no rabbits were terrorized during this analogy-it was even too hot to swing a rabbit}. It is now lunch time in Baltimore-it is at least 95 degrees. The weekly weather forecast is only slightly cooler, with all days expected to feature 90 degrees plus heat. As is that statistic isn't bad enough, the increased usage during the brutal season has either put many homes HVAC units on the fritz, or out of commission altogether. This does not include the increased bills from power providers such as BGE. The weather has also heated up off-shore waters significantly making it likely that it will be much more difficult to reason with now-upon-us hurricane season.
