One person has been left dead and another three injured following a concert by funk legends George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic. Police have confirmed that a 16-year-old was killed after being shot the head while a 20-year-old female was shot in the neck. A 14-year-old and a 23-year-old were both shot in the leg.

The incident occurred in a parking lot outside the Family Unity In The Park concert in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday night (30 July), reports Reuters. Authorities believe that the incident is unrelated to the concert.

Cleveland police spokesperson Sammy Morris said that the majority of concertgoers were middle-aged and wouldn't be involved in such an incident.

He said: "George Clinton and the other bands are basically from back in the 80s, that's when they were at the height of their popularity. It's not like it was a Lil Wayne concert or something when you have a bunch of 16, 17, 18-year-olds."

The 20-year-old victim's condition is understood to be stable while the other two victims are expected to leave hospital soon.

The gig formed part of George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic's current US tour whichcontinues at The Handlebar in Greenville, South Carolina on Friday (5 August).
