With the NBA and NFL on strike, and the Orioles/Nationals on underachievement, this event offers some needed summer sports respite. Hopefully you have been watching the games leading up to today's final, as the USA women have alternated between spectacular and awesomely spectacular the last few matches. Admittedly, this one doesn't look good for Japan on paper, but this game will be played on turf-not paper. USA just appears to be a more physical team of destiny, but Japan plays a precision game where they are able to score-and they knocked out home nation, no slouches themselves, Germany along the path to today's final. May the best ladies win..
