Defunct 90s pop group Steps are set to reunite for a four-part TV documentary -- but it remains to be seen whether they'll record any new material.

The five-piece were one of Britain's top pop acts during the late 90s before splitting in 2001 -- and the documentary, due to be shown on Sky Living, will look at what the members have been up to since.

According to Digital Spy, it is set to culminate in a Steps reunion, before they release 'The Ultimate Collection' -- with plenty of "tears" and "dramatic confrontation" expected along the way.

Speaking of the show, Sky's Head of Factual Entertainment Mark Sammon said: "We'll document the in-fighting, jealousy and power struggles -- it's not the sugar-coated Steps we all remember."

He added: "I'm delighted this British pop phenomenon has given us access to their stories. And we can expect tears and dramatic confrontation as they attempt to put the past behind them and re-launch Steps ten years on from their split."

It had been previously reported that Steps would also be reforming to play live at a charity event -- however, in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Steps' Claire Richards poured cold water over a full-blown Steps reunion, but in those famous words, she added" "Never say never."
