Patricia Wright, Naked, Gun-Toting Woman, Storms Motel Lobby In Vacaville, Calif.
A naked woman in a hotel lobby is sure to draw a lot of attention. A naked woman with a gun, however, demands a lot of attention.
Patricia Wright, 32, of Fairfield, Calif., was arrested by police in Vacaville at about 3 a.m. on July 10 following a nude standoff at a Super 8 motel, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Officials say Wright entered the motel's lobby around 2:40 a.m. Sunday wearing no clothes but waving a gun -- a loaded .38-caliber semi-automatic to be exact.
Police say the clerk on duty called 911, and when officers arrived at the scene, they set up a perimeter around the motel lobby according to the Vacaville Reporter.
Wright admitted to ingesting marijuana, ecstasy and other prescription drugs also stated she was afraid of her male companion staying with her at the motel, according to Sgt. Rick Elm.
During the standoff, police spoke on the phone with Wright and the clerk, who reportedly helped calm the suspect down and eventually convinced her to drop her weapon and surrender.
The clerk, whose name has not been released, then put the gun in a safe place, according to SFGate.com.
