Though we do enjoy a good Twitter row, sometimes we wish celebrities would take a deep breath and step away from their computer/mobiles in order to avoid hitting back at insults hurled their way by harsh critics.
Take Lily Allen?s latest Twitter spat for instance; she understandably got quite annoyed yesterday when one of her followers Tweeted her saying: ?your face makes me sick, you disgusting bitch.?
Lily instantly rose to the bait and replied:
?Then you should look at pictures of me all day, cause you look like you could lose a few.?
Now this rash retort has got Lily in a bit of trouble with the Twitterverse as telling someone to lose weight by throwing up isn?t exactly the best message to send out to young fans ? even if she is just saying it in jest.
Turns out, as well, that the girl who sent her the original message had actually had her account hacked by a friend. She?s now not such a big fan of Lily Allen anymore and was already feeling a bit insecure about her body prior to the singer?s comments. After the row she Tweeted: ?I now know I?m fat and I?ll go anorexic?.
Lily remained unapologetic for her comments though, explaining to her critics:
?She was rude and anyone who can?t see that I was joking, well that?s their problem. I also have a right to respond to insults. Get off your high horse, I?ve never claimed to be a role model for anyone. I?ll do and say what I want.?
Yes she certainly can, but as we say sometimes it might be wise for her to take a deep breath and walk away from her computer/mobile.
