Man, this touches the heart, and hits close to home. How many of us dads have reached for a thrown/hit ball at the ballpark to give to our kids-we missed one by three inches July 4th. The tragedy struck early in the game last night in Texas as a male fan tried to grab a souvenir ball tossed into the stands by outfielder Josh Hamilton. It was just one of those freak things-his legs got crossed up and he plunged head-first 20 feet down onto the cement. His horrified son watched the whole incident play out right in front of him. A person in a nearby seat tried to grab him, but could not hold on. The man passed at a Texas hospital. There is no crying in baseball, however, it is allowed today. The CNN link below shows enough to let you see how the incident went down. Awful emotional scars for a child to bear.http://www.cnn.com/2011/SPORT/07/07/texas.rangers.game.death/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
