Chappelle immediately was met with a vibrant, but evidently too participatory, which broke up his momentum while trying to deliver a new stand-up routine. Chappelle indicated to some heckers that the evning was going to become "a battle of wills" to see who wins the night. Chappelle went through a broken routine, with frequent long pauses, and also is said to have checked his cell phone/texted while on the stage. Stand-up comedy is a very difficult thing to pull off in even the most controlled situation. We also remember a late Richard Pryor appearance where he had too much of a 'vocal' audience, and it took away from the flow of his material. We hope Dave gets back into a better mood. Comedy {especially GOOD comedy} is a precious, lacking commodity these days.

Many are just screaming 'I love you' or asking him to play a former character from the tv show...but you can hear a guy working his nerves by yelling 'Tyrone!!," and filming him on his camera phone. It gets in his head early, and often.}
