Famous basketball player from United States, Kobe Bryant will most likely compete in Turkey on next season. Representative Kobe Bryant will have a meeting with the Turkish club, Besiktas, tomorrow, Saturday, July 30, 2011.
Previously, Besiktas has brought the New Jersey Nets players, Deron Williams. Now Besiktas hope to land a superstar Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant who had 13 times elected to the NBA All Star.
"Currently there is a 50 percent chance that Kobe Bryant will play in Turkey. Everything will be clearer after the meeting July 30," said Head Basketball Operasinal Besiktas, Seref Yalcin as reported by NESN, Thursday, July 28 local time.
"Kobe needs time to think. We believe the response from he will positive, the money does not matter," he added.
One of the reasons Kobe Bryant wants to move is unclear the fate of 2011-12 NBA season after a lock out. This condition is created due to disagreements between the club owner with bsketball players. This situation never occurred in the 1998-99 season.
Inevitably, the influx of Kobe Bryant will sharpen the popularity of basketball in Turkey. Besiktas ticket sales and merchandise bearing the name of Kobe Bryant predicted would give a big advantage.
