In an attempt to garner bi-partisan support during a period of great divisiveness, Art Bass had intended to jump from a four story historic Washington D.C. building and land directly in a 3x3 swimming pool, possibly containing some water, emblazoned with the patriotic red, white and blue. Tragically, as a part of his pre-jump routine he did a poorly timed, lip-synched dance version of the Lionel Richie classic "Dancing on the Ceiling." Bass was immediately set-upon by the over-heated, agitated mob, beaten mercilessly and left to die on arrival at either the closest hospital, or on Harry Reid's desk.
