You can run but you just can't hide from Adele. Not only has she taken up what seems like permanent residence in the not just the UK but also global album charts, the singer's second album, '21', is now the biggest-selling album of the year thus far, according to the Official Charts Company.

Adele has also been given an additional boost after it was revealed that her debut album, '19', happens to be the second biggest selling album of the year, thus knocking the ubiquitous Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' into a cocked hat. Similarly, for all her controversy, Rihanna has also failed to dislodge Adele from the public's affections.

The singer has further cause for celebration. Her single, 'Rolling In The Deep' has become the first track of the decade to sell more than a million copies while her No. 1 single has become the highest selling single of the year.

As previously reported, Adele's celebrations continued after she was given a clean bill of health from doctors and so enabling her to resume touring. The singer had recently suffered a bout of laryngitis which forced her to postpone part of her US tour.
