A terribly sad commentary on the painful reality for many. The 59 year-old man has multiple, scary medical conditions including two ruptured disks in his back, a bad foot and an ominous undiagnosed lump in his chest. The man worked for Coca-Cola for 17 years, but was laid off. Only being able to find part-time work, he had been unable to obtain health insurance benefits. Seemingly a nice, and in a different way-clever, man, he hopes to get a 3 year sentence which will allow him enough time to receive proper diagnosis and treatment, and reach the age where he can earn his social security benefits. We see so many people similarly situated. It breaks one's heart. He was unarmed and clearly was not going to harm anyone when he handed the teller a note specifically demanding $1. The note even said "please" and then he just went and sat down in a chair quietly waiting for LEOs.http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/crime/2011/06/21/nc.dollar.bank.robbery.wcnc?hpt=hp_t2 {With the prison visit video...he seems like such a nice, terribly vulnerable, older gentleman}
