The Oscar-winning actress welcomed a healthy baby boy with fianc� Benjamin Millepied Tuesday, People first announced.
It's been an incredible year for Portman, 30, who won a Best Actress Academy Award for her turn in ballet thriller "Black Swan," and became engaged last December shortly following the release of her film.
"Thank you to Benjamin, who is helping me to continue this creation of creating more life," the petite actress said in her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes earlier this year. "Benjamin choreographed the film and also you might remember him in the movie as the guy who, when they asked, 'Would you sleep with that girl?' he's like, 'Pssh, no.'
He's the best actor! It's not true, he totally wants to sleep with me," she joked.
Portman and Millepied met on the set of "Black Swan," and the French dancer adamantly defended his gal after claims that the actress didn't do much of the dancing in the film.
Fortunately for her, Portman will be limiting her screen time for the time being.
"I'll be out of the public eye afterward," Portman said during her pregnancy. "I'll choose my next project as it comes."
