Woot! OK, So now that I’ve got my adapter I just want to get some stuff typed up for reference and such. First of all, I go to Yonsei International Summer School (YISS)
Here are some pics I pulled from the website of the dorm so you can get an idea of what I’m working with:
Pretty nice right?! I actually love it here, I think I arrived at 11:40ish when I flew in from Japan so I was really worried there’d be no one here >.< But there was and they were really cool about getting me moved in. Oh, and before I forget, I got lost on my way finding the dorm because Yonsei is like super hugs and full of HILLS. These are not normal hills either, these hills sneak up on you like a thief in the night, climbin’ in yo windows snatchin yo people up. Yeah, so you better watch it if you come here lol.
The plane ride over here (I flew delta) wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I mean the person next to me DID steal the window seat, but I was content with watching the in-flight movies and catching some Zs. When you get here, things will move pretty fast, all I can say is stay ahead of the crowd because things will go really slow once you reach immigration and you don’t want to be stuck standing there.
The taxi ride from Incheon, albeit very expensive was really fun. My taxi driver was totally the coolest taxi driver I’ve ever met and he knew quite a bit of English so we shared weird stories lol
My dorm room as promised:
It’s not too fancy, but better than any of the rooms back at Mills so I can’t complain, plus I don’t have to share it! Oh, but wait, I forgot. The beds here…are hard as stone. I sleep on top of my covers because I’ve woken up so many times in the night from how uncomfortable I am.
But anyway!! Orientation went smoothly and I haven’t actually been out to eat yet, been living off of ramen and cafeteria food until I get a camera, but when I do I’ll let you know if I find any place good to eat!
Anyway, until next time! My classes started today but I haven’t got a grip on difficulty level yet, Biology seems like a walk in a park full of puppies and rainbows, but I’ll hold off on that.
