All we can expect is that when you suddenly leave the pool, you lock the door to discourage the 'poor lings'. And, in all seriousness, did anyone in Salisbury get to go to the Wi-Hi Cars concert some dude won from the national MTV contest that went down at Wi-HI?? We know we snuck in along with our girl who had the sticker tag. Somewhere we still have the tag we peeled off and put in our AP biology textbook. We actually were working as a pool lifeguard during an evening at what we remember as the Salisbury Sheraton Inn {it has changed names..many times}. One night when a cool, quiet, dark-haired guy in a collared polo shirt, came down and signed the guest clipboard just prior to midnight. He signed it as 'R.K," but we knew exactly who he was. This was about 1984-ish. Naturally, we had no cell phone, portable camera or a mobile device. He was the only dude in the pool, and we respected his privacy. We made sure that after-hours we listened to a cassette {not even an 8 track-but a cassette of "Moving In Stereo" }. We asked for, and he granted, an autograph.
We also remember the wine coolers {original 'California Coolers'} just released around that time. Your only choice at that time was two different California Coolers-'California Cooler' 4 packs {not 6, but four}, One { We believe regular lemon-limes were a teen aged man's ticket to ride..if you know what we mean.}, and a second developing progress with a tasty orange flavor. Combine it with some Michelob bottles, and it was time to both hold it-and then hit it. Get funky now...
