HOW A TOWED HEARSE LED TO "MY GENERATION."

Before the clock on the wall hits midnight, we have to reflect upon how England's Queen Mother towing Pete Townshend's vehicle inspired the classic, era-inspiring rock anthem, "My Generation" on this date in 1965. Townshend was angered that his vehicle, a 1930s era hearse, had been towed because his ride "offended" the Queen Mother. He wrote the 'in-your-face' lyrics while riding a London train after the hearse was towed from outside his flat. The insult, inconvenience and indignity inspired the lyrics "Hope I die before I get old." The lyrics were penned on Townshend's 20th birthday, and formed the foundation for the classic album{s} that would keep then-bickering 'The Who' intact, and allow them to become one of the greatest rock acts in history. And if you don't like it you can F-fffffff-fade away!!
