A PERSONAL NOTE FROM AITC IF OUR HUMOR STARTS TO SLIDE A BIT.

Many know the reason I started this blog was as a part of the healing process I must endure as I watch my mother, the most wonderful woman you could ever meet, who has been slowly failing during the last 5 years due to early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. The disease appears to have hit another stage of deterioration. I have now learned that her older sister, my favorite aunt {I never had a father in the home so she was my 'de facto father'}, is terminally ill due to lifelong complications from diabetes. These two women were the foundation of my childhood, and to watch these horrors unfold is beyond heart-breaking. My in-laws are also fighting noble battles with Father Time, as well.

As we have tried to sit down, and write humor to balance the terrible tragedies in the news-we have struggled of late. Especially on a rainy day on Easter weekend. Sometimes we have looked at a cruel world and shouted back at it with rage instead of finding a way to be positive. We went through a similar horrible time around Christmas as we remember that which can never be achieved again, and have to find strength and comfort that the good times still exist in our dreams. As we note tomorrow is Easter Sunday, another holiday our family enjoyed before so many passed or became ill, we regret we don't have any smiles in our heart.

We will continue to have our original mission statement that we want to add a little enjoyment, humor and brotherhood for our audience. We hope that as we reach out to others, they will also drop the unnecessary hatred and divisiveness that is killing our society. As our population ages, and support systems continue to be downsized, we pretty much have to rely on ourselves as neighbors and friends. I also ask for thoughts and prayers for those so sick in my life, and also for me that I will have the strength to face inevitable dark times in the near future. We thank our diverse readers for their support, and we hope that once we achieve some closure, we will be able to repay the debt to others. May health and happiness find you, and if you have some to spare, share with others in need.
