Eartquake in Japan, a citizen found dead

Earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale shook northeastern Japan. The earthquake followed by tsunami waves as high as four feet that swept the coastal areas of Japan.

The Associated Press reported, Friday, March 11, 2011, earthquake that killed one person. Police said the victim was found dead in a house collapse in Ibaraki prefecture, northeast of Tokyo.

Reportedly also, the tsunami swept boats, cars and buildings. Television footage showed waves of muddy water swept farmland near the city of Sendai, and bring the building.

"This is a rare great earthquake, and damage could rise rapidly within minutes," said Junichi Sawada, Disaster Management Agency officials.

Until now the value of damage and casualties continued to be observed.
