Toy Story 3, Best Animated Film Oscar 2011
Movie sequels, Toy Story 3, won best animated film award in the Oscars 2011. Walt Disney's film output is to beat the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" and "The Illusionist."
The film, distributed by Buena Vista firm, is the third film that relies on the veteran star as a filler voice. That is Tom Hanks as the cowboy doll Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. The film also received five Oscar nominations in 2011, including Best Picture category.
This is a feat in itself for Walt Disney. That's because the film is the third animated feature film Disney's output in the list of nominated best film category in Oscars. The two previous animated films in the list of Oscar is "Beauty and the Beast," who end up getting an Academy Award in 1991, and the film "Up".
The film "Toy Story 3" is the best-selling movie in 2010 and a profit of U.S. $ 1.06 billion, or Rp 8.8 trillion worldwide and $ 415 million in the United States since its launch in June last year. In second place was the animated movie by director Tim Burton, "Alice in Wonderland" with an income of $ 1.02 billion worldwide.
"This is actually re-definition and opens a new chapter in show business. You can call it CGI, computer animation or call it the era of 'Toy Story'." Tom Hanks said when interviewed on the red carpet, as quoted from www.ontheredcarpet.com.
"It's getting better and better. The more and more like it. Two are better than one and three better than two. Four also may be better than three. It's very possible!," Said Estelle Harris, who acted as Mrs Potato Head in Toy Story films, describing his joy of winning "Toy Story 3"
