Stress can cause many physical side effects and increase unhealthy behavior, such as eating too much and lazy move. Overcome this problem with a massage as a medium of relaxation.
"Relaxation Massage is probably one of the easiest and best way, not only cope with stress, but it makes you healthier in the long run," said Winston Moore, a certified massage therapist at Massage Envy, the United States.
According to him, massage can boost the immune system, remove toxins, and lower blood pressure. If you do not have time to go to the clinic massage, try to follow some simple tips below, as quoted by the Times of India:
- If you have a headache due to stress, try to press the point located in the middle of the triangle area between thumb and forefinger. Use your thumb and index finger opposite to press this point. Give a strong pressure for about 10-20 seconds. Repeat on the opposite side. Do this several times until the headache is reduced.
- Pain in the back of the head can also be relieved with massage. How, on both sides of your spine, just below the round bone at the base of your skull, do the pressure here with your thumb or index finger to count slowly to 10. Do this several times.
- The ear lobes also have pressure points that can relieve headaches and has a calming effect on the body. You can grab both your ear lobes between your thumb and forefinger, then squeeze while pulling firmly. But, not to cause pain.
Do this for 20 seconds at a time until you feel calm. Do the slow breathing in and out through your nose, and expand the abdominal breathing, not chest.
- Many of us keep tension in the neck and shoulders, which can be increased when in front of the computer for a long time. Try shrugged as high as the ears and hold for five seconds. Then drop shoulders as low as possible and hold for five seconds.
Repeat this several times, and then follow with the movement slow shoulder circles in both directions. This will increase blood flow to the area, and allow your muscles to relax.
- Stress can play a major role in the quality of your sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, try using a tennis ball to help stretch the muscles tense.
While lying face up in bed without a pillow, place the tennis ball in the back of the head, right in the crook of her neck. Lie down for 10-15 minutes before bedtime. Sleep immediately after doing this therapy.
- The foot contains many nerve endings that refer to various parts of the body. You can enjoy a relaxing foot massage while sitting on the desk. Remove your shoes and place the golf ball on the floor. Rotate feet above the golf ball while applying pressure.
This helps release tension in muscles and tendons of the foot. Pressure points on the feet can also reinforce relaxation. Repeat for about five minutes to help ease the tension your body.
