Queen guitarist Brian May has backed calls for a Scottish golf club to ban a member who attacked a tame fox with a club after it stole his biscuit.

As the Scotsman reports, an animal rights furore has escalated around the Peterculter Golf Club in Aberdeen after 55-year-old Donald Forbes, who attacked the fox, was allowed back into the club after a nine-month suspension.

He was fined £750 ($1,210) in May for hitting a fox in head with his golf club on the course after it nabbed a chocolate biscuit from his bag. It is said that another golfer had to put the animal out of its misery due to its injuries.

A number of protestors have rallied against the club's decision to reinstate Forbes -- and now they've been joined by seasoned animal rights protester and legendary guitarist Brian May.
