The incident went down in Frederick, Maryland but we believe the young 'lady' was from South Carolina. The story is just wrong for so many reasons. First, she left the dog unattended in a locked vehicle mid-day yesterday when temperatures were over 100 degrees plus heat index. When rescued, the temperature inside the vehicle was reported to be 152 degrees. Second, the woman will not be cited with animal cruelty because, fortunately, the dog survived relatively unscathed. She will receive a relatively minor traffic citation. Third, the dog was returned to her. And, finally, her 'important' reason to be so reckless...wait for it..she was visiting a tanning salon during June.
