We knew it would be a good show, and great for the local Baltimore economy. Alas, we were ticket less and couldn't attend ourselves. The storms held off-we hear it was very hot and humid, especially due to so many bodies so close together. Finding a bartender or restaurant server both before and after the show required tremendous resolve, but we all know it is worth it {please also refer to our continued tutorials on how to maximize your 'fun' due to pro-active tailgating}. However, the city is just abuzz with tales of fun and the experience of an intense visual show. The gig went just over two hours, and featured a pretty standard 'later years' set-list. During "Beautiful Day" taped footage of now-retired Discovery commander, Mark Kelly, from the International Space Station appeared on the big screen during the final encore, as he floated out words at zero gravity to supplement Bono's vocals. To finish the gig, the band paid tribute to recently passed Clarence Clemons with a "Moment of Surrender/Jungleland" medley that left those in the audience breathless, and in tears. The clip below shows the lighters and cell phone cameras as the tribute begins, and the heartfelt tribute from the band. It made the price of admission, and today's inevitable hangovers well worth the sacrifice. We apologize for the video being from the Bob Euker 'front row,' but that venue is huge for concert purposes, and hey, at least whomever filmed it was inside!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRSssydsUEA {"Moment of Surrender/Jungleland medley"}
