Undercover plot to remove Pastor Adeboye uncovered

The leading pastor in the country and with a congregation running into tens of millions, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) worldwide. He is regarded as a pastor of pastors that are not even under the umbrella of the church, though the church has at one time or the other been mentioned in many crisis some of which had generated serious condemnation from members of the society and even some pastors. Prominent are the expulsion of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and the many financial impropriety cases involving many pastors in the church. There are also many cases of sexual atrocities committed by pastors in the church.
We gathered that if the governing council of the church is able to carry out its plan to force the General Overseer of the church to resign from the his post next year, the church may be heading for the biggest crisis that may eventually split it. We were informed that the plan is to place the retirement age of pastors in the church to 70 and that the decision will be applicable even to the G.O, who celebrated his 69th birthday earlier this year. This means that if all things work out as planned, the man that joined the church as an interpreter but has been responsible for the growth the church has experienced in the years past will have to step down next year as the head of the church.
In their plan to enforce this decision, he was made to conduct a retirement service for some pastors of the church that were in the range and above the age of 70, at the Redemption Camp headquarters of the church on Monday 9th of August, 2010. Those retired included four Special Assistant General Overseers who also doubled as regional pastors. They replaced them with more vibrant young men.
Those retired are Pastor Ojo and Pastor Aderibigbe who had attained the retirement age of 70. They were replaced by Pastors E.A.Odeyemi, Daramola, D.Lawal and Obayemi who were regional pastors in Jos, Abuja , Ilorin and Sagamu respectively.
It is only time that will tell if this plan will be able to see the light of day, especially when the council is putting to test the popularity of the most popular and humblest men of God in the country
