The background: For nap time Caitlin and momma go to momma's room and climb into bed. Momma closes her eyes and pretends to sleep. She is usually able to fool her little one into falling asleep too.
The hypothesis: (Based on observations of way too many Disney Princess movies) Kissing someone wakes them up!
Caitlin decides to test this one out yesterday. I get planted with about 10 wet strawberry gogurt flavored kisses (Caitlin knows kisses work best right on the kisser of course!). What's a mom to do? Do I wake up and have her know how she can avoid nap time for eternity? Do I stay there and crush her little princess fantasy (all the while trying to hold in laughter)? Hmmm... I just rolled over and she was asleep 8 minutes later.
Conclusion: Although Caitlin is one of mom's true loves- kisses do not wake her up.
Don't worry though- Caitlin has a well stocked arsenal of things that do wake momma up... Body slams, crying, yelling, tickling feet, etc.
